I never said he was a college dropout. It helps to pay attention, now you look juvenile.

A "loser" with hundreds of millions in the bank. I'd love to be in that "loser" position.

But yes, I'm sure he has less education than the Starbucks barista down the street making minimum wage. What a winner that person is, eh?

Koppel is right. News channels and shows shouldn't be places of opinion. But I guess you can't fill 24 hrs with salient news that attracts ratings.

The biggest problem facing The News is profit margins.

HA! And when democrats call you ignorant or a rube, there's a 100% chance that they're the ignorant ones and rubes. I've yet to see their finger pointing not reflect their actions.

He lied about the 9th circuit court being the most overturned.

    He lied about Benghazi.

He lied about Nancy Pelosi and the outrage she (he claims) didn't receive for meeting with Assad. There was plenty of outrage.

He lied about the amount of refugees we would take in.

    He lied about healthcare.

He paints in massive strokes the increase in premiums and applies them as he sees fit.

He lied about unemployment under Obama.

He lied about cash for clunkers.

Need I go on? I mean, really. Do I have to?

    I can tell.

This isn't about reality shows on TLC. I figured you were smart enough to understand what I was talking about. An ounce of common sense will take you further than a 6+ year college education.

Totally. Hannity has only been behind Trump since 2015.

Did I understand this right? You and Ted Koppel think that opinion news show should be banned?

TK “In the long haul I think you and all these opinion shows --”

Wrong. People do take him seriously.

But I agree with Cubed. We should not have "opinion" shows on news networks. It dilutes facts with nonsense, and disrupts the free flow of truthful, impartial information.

Appeal and value are two completely different things.

Nobody said anything about "free speech" were talking about the value of the speech. The divide in this country is so great, that we can't debate anymore. There is no independent thinking, just pre-drawn conclusion based on your political ideology and individual confirmation bias.

We have turned into a society so steeped in confirmation bias, that we cant listen to the other side because we have the option to listen to only "our side". We have media outlets that will only talk about things we want to hear, therefore we become convinced that what they are saying is the only truth. When in fact, 90% of the "news" we hear today is so full of spin and confirmation bias, that the "truth" is not only secondary, in most cases its non-existent.

It has gotten so bad that we as a society pick sides before we even know any of the facts. Look no further than the racial divide in this country, the "blue lives matter" vs "black lives matter". You can here on the news "a black man was shot by police today", and without hearing another word, I guarantee that FOX will have "it was the black mans fault", while MSNBC will be pushing "the cops shot an unarmed black man today". No facts in either story because they don't matter, all that matters is creating that confirmation bias to get/retain ratings. This was the main driver in the removal of the fairness doctrine, because confirmation bias creates better ratings.

YES, Sean Hannity is bad for America. But so is Ed Schultz, and Racheal Maddow, and Rush Limbaugh. It isn't the person as much as the speech they make. Im only using fox and Hannity as an example here, but to be very clear, all of the talking heads do it including MSNBC, Maddow, Hayes, Limbaugh etc. Remember that Fox News has said since day one, that they aren't "news" and that they have no responsibility to the truth (they went to the supreme court for that right). Even though they use the word "News" in their name, they claim not to be. The subliminal undertones there are stunning IMHO. And they routinely put their talking heads out there like Hannity just said, to claim "these are just our opinions".

If you don't want the fairness doctrine, then this is what you get. IMHO it IS the media who drives division in the name of ratings, and ultimately dollars. They will fight the fairness doctrine at every turn, and in the ultimate irony, lie to you to make sure you won't support it in any form

My friend dropped out of college when his father came down with cancer.

I guess I should never listen to anything he has to say.

I don't consider somebody intelligent because they graduated college.

That shows they know how to study and take tests.

Most of the world agrees with me.

Oh God, I almost choked on my mint.... Lol ok... I hope people feel that way when they drive past my house and see my Thin Blue Line flag waving in the wind, or when they see my Thin Blue Line flag sticker on the rear window of my truck. But really, I think you're in a very large minority with your line of thinking. Executing civilians and tyranny, BWAHAHAHAHA!

Ted Koppel takes him so seriously, he wants to deny him the right to express his opinion.

    What do mean educated?

Do you mean they never went to college or they never read a book or what?
