This is why wars of revenge never end until one or both parties decide to end it. Hamas is a new political entity that was created out of the detritus of a once proud people that had no say in their own affairs starting hundreds of years ago. The Ottomans did not care about them, the Turks didn't care, the other Arab states did not care, Britain did not care, the US did not care, the Zionists did not care and the UN did not care. So, they got out smarted by European Jews working for decades to fulfill their dream of a Jewish state in Palestine. With the complicity of everyone but the people of Palestine and the combined guilt of the world over WW2, they succeeded in pestering Truman to grant them a nation based upon Zionism. The people of Palestine did not kill millions in gas chambers or displace even more millions via war. They were not players in WW2.
