Yes, that factor still matters. When you buy in the marketplace, you still choose based on the price and quality of the available competing options. Jacking up prices for no reason is a good way to drive consumers to your competitors.

 

You still don't get it, even those competitors will drive up their prices. Because of the absolute necessity, there is no good reason for an insurance company NOT to overcharge on their prices. Be it in the marketplace, Obama Exchanges, or anything else. None of that does squat to the basic monopoly that a Fixed Market imposes.

You have no choices, or rather at best the illusion of a choice: Do I want to be ripped off 75%, or do I want to be shammed by 100%? Either way, you just lost BIG time. And for what? An insurance policy that'll hopefully rarely, if ever kick in?
