Look, let's just understand that our problems lie more than just on the field. Our problems are all traceable back to one individual and it runs downhill from there. Until Jerry Jones realizes he is nothing more than an owner, the Cowboys are (*)(*)(*)(*)ed.

Sign the checks Jerry, let football people, make football decisions. To waste the talent that is on this team year in and year out is ridiculous. I am not claiming SB Champs every year, but damn there is no reason why anyone in the division should be within 3 games of us, none.

I do not care what kind of video game numbers Tony Romo puts up, fact is he costs us more games than he wins. He cannot perform under pressure and will always make the wrong decision in critical times. He is overrated. He is not elite, despite what analysts may tell you. He has elite numbers, but in the end only 2 numbers matter Wins and Losses. That's it. It does no good to throw for 500 yards a game, 5 touchdowns, and one interception if the interception comes with you up by 3 with your back against the goal line and 4 minutes left in the game. His decision making is awful.

Why oh why do we let Rob Ryan go and go to a place where he actually now looks like a defensive guru and replace him with Monte Kiffin whose defensive philosophy hasn't been condusive since John Gruden and Tampa won the SB.

Christ Almighty the Cowboys are pathetic. The only thing tha may save us this year is that everyone else in the division is just as pathetic if not worse.

As Walter Cronkite would say, "And that's the way it is, Dallas Cowboys 2013"

You pretty much covered it all....good post!

The Eagles can get to 8-8 if they can beat Washington, Min and Dallas

The Cowboys get to 8-8 if they beat Oakland, Washington and the Eagles

I only see the G-men losing to Seattle and the Packers (but w/o Aaron they might win)
so the G-men get to 7-9 and possibly 8-8

I believe the g-men or eagles will win the div

    the cowboys are done.

The Cowboys didnt even play today and they still LOST!

Eagles won and went from tie w/Boys in 1st place to sole 1st place. Boys now in 2nd place....

and so it begins. It's going to come down to the Eagles and G-Men. When will they finally dump Romo?

sec (that's me) has been predicting this from the get-go even when the Giants were 0-6. The Cowboys just couldn't get to that magical 8 wins or the playoff locking 9 wins. Think of it this way, it is too much to ask Dallas to have only 7 losses !!!!! Is that pathetic or what?

You do realize that in the scenario you just described, Dallas would actually win the division if all three teams finish 8-8. Dallas has already swept the first half of division games, meaning that if they win they games you say, they will be 2-0 against the Eagles, and Washington and will be 5-1 in the division if they lose to the Giants, everyone else will have 2 losses in the division. That would mean Dallas is not done.

Yes, the Cowboys are pathetic, so is the division, which means anything can happen, but the one thing in Dallas' favor is having swept the first half against the division.

I saw them getting to 7 wins, still do. The 8th win would be the challenge.

If they change QB's then they stand a chance.

As bad as Romo is, he gives us the best chance to win. No changing to Kyle Orton will not solve any problems. So out of the teams left on the Dallas schedule Oakland, NYG, Chicago, GB(no Rogers), Washington, Philly. You can only see the Cowboys winning 2 games? Even though we have beaten the 3 division teams already? And Oakland and a GB team without Rogers (possibly) sorry I just don't see 2-4 down the stretch.

    losses in the next games

    G-men
    Da Bears
    Eagles

either Oakland or GB will beat Dallas

That gives them 7 wins. It might be enough, who knows.

You realize that in your 5 losses he has only 1 pick.

The problem is that when your QB is throwing for 500 yards a game the game shouldn't be close. The problem is the worst defense in the league. A defense that runs a system designed to bring John Lynch down like a bullet on Emmit smith.

The issue is not the quantity of interceptions that Romo throws it is the times at which he throws them, and its not just picks, it is his complete ineptness at understanding situational football. The pick that you referenced for instance, the pass was intended for Witten, it was second down we had just taken a sack it was 2nd and 17 if remember correctly, 4 minutes to go and he tried to drop a pass between 3 Bronco defenders. DeMarco Murray was wide and I mean wide open on a 7 yard dump off directly in front of him with no one within 15 yards of him. Make the correct play, and we win, instead gift wrap it for the Broncos. That is the difference between the elite quarterbacks and everyone else. His career is littered with plays like this. He can't deliver in the clutch.

Now, if you would read all of my posts you would see that I spread the blame around equally and spare no one. There is a reason this football team is 123-123 since 1997 and that would be Jerry Jones and his decision making as GM. His love affair with Romo and the need to be in control of every aspect are ruining this once great franchise. Had he never opened his mouth and never insulted Jimmy Johnson, there is no telling how many SB this team would have in the case. I guarendamntee you though it would be more than 5. I have belittled the dicision to let Rob Ryan go and replace him with Monte Kiffin and going to the 4-3 with the wrong players. So thanks for pointing out that little gem that Dallas defense is ranked 31st in the league. Tell me something I don't know about the Dallas Cowboys.

I remember watching the play. Witten was open. There is always 3 guys around the ball on any underneath rout. What happened was as Romo was releasing his left guard crossed his face to help the center on the nose and prevented Romo from stepping into the throw. What should have been a bullet to Witten died, witten had to stop running, and the trailing defender who witten had beat was able to under cut him and make the pick.

I can tell you from experience on lots of pass plays you can look at a QBs decision and say why didn't you throw it to this guy. Well because there is a progression. Witten was the 2nd read and he was open. He might not have been as open as Murray but the RB is usually the 3rd read.

You dont go 1, 2, 3 now which one's more open. If one is open you throw. If not and two is open you throw.

P.S. It is the only pick the has thrown in any of your losses and it was in a game that you should have never even been in.

Yes, I watched the play as well, Murray was underneath, where were the 3 guys around him? There were none. Witten was already bracketed by 2 defenders and because of the weak throw the third who the pass was supposed to have dropped over lame ducked and gave the game away. We won't even get into the fact that there was a ref in the way as well, fact remains Romo made a bad decision, and that is the story of this franchise since 1997. Danny White was more capable than Tony Romo.

Thanks for the regurgitation of the ESPN analysis though. There is a reason for the progression the window Romo was trying to throw into was small to begin with. He made the wrong choice, period.

So you agree that the reason the pass was intercepted was because his guard crossed into his throw.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3c7tytypX-o

    1:14 Witten is open

Its throw to the first open man in your progression not the most open man.

I can't imagine Cowboys players wanting to buy tickets to the game and traveling to NJ to watch it in the freezing cold. Stay home and watch it with friends

I'm saying the same thing to the crowds of people coming to Dallas this week for the JFK memorial. 80 degrees today and tomorrow... dropping to 40 by 7 am Fri. Cold & rainy all day... for the thousands of attendees from up north who've been basking in the sun... to stand outside and freeze their butts off.

Turnabout's fair play. Wouldn't mind sending the 'boys up there to freeze their butts off. Fine with me!
