Network news and their affiliated news channels are all but dead. If you want honest news, you'd better turn to the internet. That is while you still can. The MSM will continue to lobby for censorship on the internet. It's the only way they can control the narrative in this day and age.

I've listened to NPR for an entire morning edition loop now and once again they are talking about Hollywood. If they mentioned the stock market as a previous poster claimed I must have sneezed in that split second and missed it.

A business friendly businessman just like Herbert Hoover. A business friendly Congress just like Hoover. A fast growing stock market just like Hoover. The underlying financials not supporting stock prices just like Hoover...Page two coming right up.

Yeah I jumped on financials heavily leveraged about 10/15. Made a killing (almost 50% return) since then but my stops are really tight because I understand I'm riding a bull that has no legs.

The median 401k balance in 2014 was $18,000. 40% have less than 10,000 in 401ks. Yeah, that additional $2,000 in their stash from the recent irrational exuberance (based on emotion rather than economic fundamentals), assuming their 401ks are 100% in stocks, will create a secure retirement for them -- NOT.

However, the coming tax cuts have one goal: To make the consumer spend again. And they will -- by taking on more debt rather than getting higher wages, just like in the GWB years. And the creditors laugh all the way to the bank.

Edit: The P/E ratio has only been higher twice, before the great depression and before the end of the .com bubble. We all know how that ended. So, invest in stocks at your own peril.

More like Reagan than Hoover and that had legs that lasted for decades until Democrats finally cut it off at the knees. I'm curious though, as a Trump hater why did you jump back in the market when he was elected? Didn't buy the Democratic talking points i guess huh.

Honesty and integrity has nothing to do with the numbers. Though I wouldn't expect someone who gets their news from the TV to understand. The next time you're uncertain about someone else' post, try asking for clarification. Perhaps you won't look so foolish yourself.

A 401k is the new form of retirement planning as pension have gone away. Anybody who doesn't put every dime they can in their 401k is a fool and I have no sympathy for them.

12 % max out their 401k contributions (I am one of them). Thanks for labeling the remaining 88 % of the population as "fools" for everyone to see. This shows your true colors and the disdain of conservatives for everyone less rich than them.

If you don't take full advantage of the generous 401k plans you are indeed a fool.

LOL. The median personal income is $30,240. The 401k contribution limit is $18,000. How in the world is anyone making the median income or less (50% of the population) going to max out their 401k? That would mean they have to live on less than half of their already meager income.

But, sure, they are all "fools". I wonder how many of those "fools" have voted for Trump.

The nation's free press must persist in it's critical role, holding those in power to accountability - rational, credible evidence and the essential documentation for fanciful, inevitably self-serving proclamations.

That free press is inevitably the enemy of demagogues, and demagogues inevitably rail against it. There are quite enough nations where autocrats crush public access to a range of perspectives, and promote the exclusive, hyper-partisan sources that pander to power.

Where are the witnesses to "thousands and thousands" cheering terrorisms in New Jersey? Where is the evidence for "3-5 million" invisible illegal voters, all casting their ballots against The Great Flatu?

A cult may pleasure itself with endless Bowling Green Massacres. Rational folks need facts that are not of the spurious "alternative" variety.

I never said max out,I said take full advantage of. I see countless people spending their meager income on beer and cigarettes that could have gone into their 401k and i have no sympathy for them.

This is not made up. The Trump bounce of the stock market is mentioned often on Fox News, but almost no where else. If you dont believe this post examples of where it get anything more than a mere mention of the numbers mentioned on the MSM.

.... Or you can't afford it.

My wife and I make a comfortable income. But we have a mortgage, cars, and two kids approaching college age. I contribute 15% to my 401(k); she contributes 25% of her salary (she makes about half of what I make). That puts me a few thousand shy of the max, and my wife substantially below it (especially because she just turned 50 and so qualifies for the increased catch-up limit).

We can't afford to do more at this point. That does not make us "fools".

Maybe you should try walking in someone else's shoes for a while. That would require empathy. Are you able?

I have not watched every newscast of every network, so i cannot say with certainty that the claim of the OP is technically accurate. However, the ones i have watched, which vary from cable to network, to local news all support that perception. I have see the usual financial reports, but they do not credit Trump with any ups for the Dow.

So to me, this is CLEARLY another evidence of the bias of the MSM toward Trump, & their preference to run 'fake' news, rather than anything accurate or pertinent to the working man.

No lies here. I believe TV news is less honest than internet news. You brought up viewership numbers as if that rebuts my stance. It doesn't.

You said Network news is all but dead which my post showed is wrong. bringing up honesty is just a shell game has nothing to do with how many people are watching it. You you said Network news was dying I showed you you are wrong

No you didn't. You showed more people watch TV news than get it from the internet. That proves nothing outside of those basic numbers.

If you are doing all you can afford you are not fools but "afford" is open for interpretation. Do you buy potato chips? Do you go out to eat? Did you throw away your iPhone 6 to get the cool new 7? See what I mean? "Afford" is a relative term.
