Why would you need to see what she looks like? I am with Margot- I am bailing on a conversation that seems to have gone down hill fast.
to see if shes real and not a bot..nevermind, yeah this off-topic discussion hasnt led anywhere, iconcur.
So maybe 3,000+ years ago Egypt had a high percentage of Negroes including in the ruling class. So what. Egypt being located in a strategic transportation crossroads between Africa, Asia, Europe, a mixed racial history is no surprise. Whats the point of your OP?
okay, my error...but I still stand by point I was trying to make DNA evidence has only really begun shaking up anthropological theories in the last ten years, all those scholars debating the previous evidence without DNA support should be prepared to back away from those theories... violent strife is a major cause of displacement but in those times individuals and families just didn't pick up and move to a better place like they have done in more recent times...the ability of people to migrate back then was many times more difficult, people form all over africa, europe and the middle east just didn't decide to head for the promised land of Egypt...most would have never heard of it and if they did had no way of knowing where it was or the means to get there, the journey by any individual or family would've been incredibly dangerous... you need to put it in historical context, back in the day it was standard behaviour/morality everywhere, if your people need land/resources your neighbours occupied you try take it from them peacefully at first, if they resist you kill them or they kill you...black africans practiced the same behaviour on their african neighbours...it isn't at all nice but that's how the world worked at that time...
Maybe not but the chances are very high. Upper Egypt was where Sudan is now. If we know the situation in Sudan today, where we have the worlds longest civil war ongoing we can see that the 'blacks' are still in retreat from the very days of AEgypt. This is due to Arab imperialism that has been steadily changing the face of East/North Afrika. This has come to a halt recently, with South Sudan annexing itself in a bid to hold off Arab imperialism. Also the re-creation of Israel has somewhat deflected Arab attention in the region and also halted the stream of Asians crossing into Afrika through Egypt. Think of the world as a giant petri dish, we are all bacteria, fighting to dominate the other bacteria and takeover the territory. - - - Updated - - - Idisagree. AEgypt was not expansionist like the Asian empires, neither was Axum!
but ican see what he is trying to articulate, he just never explained himself properly. Maybe because he realized immediately why and connected the dots but anyway, yeh, nothing more to add here, yet.
and I'm quite sure many of the Pharaohs multiple wives and concubines would've been Nubians and obviously many of the offspring would've been if not Pharaohs themselves holders of very important positions... but that hasn't changed since the Pharaohs so it's not a uniquely arabic sure they were expansionist, they just weren't very good at it and they didn't really have the technical/strategic means to do it ...and situated where it is surrounded by desert and seas there weren't many options for regions to expand into...Egypt's attempt to move into Palestine didn't go very well... - - - Updated - - - I don't like where it's headed, it'll derail the thread...
You know what, ijust knew you were going to say that. Why? Because it cannot be proven, whether they were good or not. The fact is, they WERENT expansionists, simply because........they didnt expand! and that is my point, they didnt need to because they lived in the Nile Valley, it had everything. It was the Arabs that needed to expand because Arabia has very little to offer in antiquity.
you can look it up if you want I'm not lying to you Jonah...there was only two directs for conquest, Eygpt warred with Kush to it's south and nations to the northeast...Egypt did extend the empire into Palestine but were stopped there, the ability for expansive empires hadn't developed as yet... are you calling them arabs because they speak arabic or because they are actually Arabs?...I speak english but I'm not english...
Well im just saying, it matters not whetehr they could expand or not, maybe they didnt put their eggs in that basket, know what im sayin.. I calling them Arabs (Khartoum) because that is what they call themselves. this was about Sudan right, Bashir (PM) is from a prominent Arab tribe and yes, he's 'black'.
I understand... there wasn't a strong expansionist desire in the society despite the feeble efforts from some wannabe warrior Pharaohs...how does that sound? I don't know this as fact but I suspect despite what the Sudanese identify themselves as(Arabs) I suspect they're generally a genetic mixture of Egyptians and Nubians... I was always puzzled when I heard them described as Arab and seeing pics of Bashir....
Ithink that sounds about right Well as istated, Bashir is from the Arab bedouin tribe Al-Bedairyya Al-Dahmashyya. Contrary to popular belief, the original Arabs were 'black'. Shocking admission for some yes but thats my belief. today we have come to picture Arabs as the ones we are fighting and that Arabs have always looked that way but as we know, times change and so do faces. - - - Updated - - - no
This from someone who uses the obsolete "AEgypt". If you're going to be a linguistics Nazi, at least try to be consistent. It is the 21st century, after all.
lol!!!!! "Semitic" is not a scientifically recognized anthropological/biological group for humans. Its pure Bible myth. and no, the Bible never, not once, not ever says the Pharaoh's were black. please don't be dishonest about the Bible. - - - Updated - - - this is 100% false, baseless BS.
