If your working and middle classes are empowered by enterprise and/or property, they can choose 'no thanks' .. not only to 24/7 spending, but to fear-driven acceptance of the ideologies bolstering such a system. Finally, I am not for disenfranchisement. But most of these types of arguments try to blame one side and not the other. both sides want serfs, but they want the other side to be serfs while their side is not. That is the whole bloody game.
