It starts by reading history books that haven't been "Updated"by revisionist that like to rewrite books and change the original truths and perceptions that were put into press many years ago .You know- when people had honor and stood by convictions and just told the truth in writing. During the American Civil War we had the Republicans and it's alter ego the peace party or the slave holders also legally known as the Copperhead party which after they lost the war became the Democratic Party. New York was the main stage for the copperhead,peace or has it is known as today - the Democratic Party. It's members included the unions who were anti black NY and didn't want freed blacks to take the jobs in the industrial NE and the majority of NY politicians.They had the power and political might to try to dethrone Lincoln and if it weren't for Gen Sherman sending home a large contingency of soldiers to vote in 1864 there is a possibility that the Democrats may have won and we would still have slavery today. Proof ! General George McClelland a democratic favorite son was forced on the Lincoln administration by the Dems to lead the Arms of the Potomic and did nothing but to find a way to let the South gain victory after victory during the early stages of the conflict. Lincoln finally replaced him and the NY politicians went with McClelland as the presidential contender in1864. Thank god common sense prevailed and Lincoln won. NYC riots took place instigated by the Dems and blacks were hung from lamppost on Broadway during the Civil War. Democratic backed Unions were anti black all the way up to the 1970s until affirmative action laws were put in effect. The Dems saw an opening after they lost the war and realized that they could still keep control of the blacks and in effect stay in power by giving the minoritys control over their little area's but staying in charge of the bigger picture. Hence the party of today ! They still keep the minorities subservient and still use the age-old tools of control through denial, deceit, and lies. Wasn't there a Democratic congressman that just died who was a leader in the KKK and has been a major player in DC politics for 60 years but as usual the goosesteping followers dismissed it. Wake up lemmings of the Democratic Party -they still own you and abuse you. Common sense isn't dead yet. Your Daily Bread
