Why wouldn't they be? There is no reason men that age should not be available in the reserve. Train everyone at 19, and keep some in active reserve and the rest in the reserves. It is not a new and radical idea, but old and tested. Besides, even the age group you mention is quite large, and 25 is very young. Even in US you can still enter service much older than that.

 

Macron was referring to cyber security when he mentioned US as a threat.

Unfortunately now France is saying EU needs to unite financially to defend against US economically. It is sad the relations have deteriorated so much so fast. The trade war will hurt both sides.

 

It is somewhat irrelevant, because you don't need that many to have credible threat.

Perhaps the US is a diplomatic threat, though the meaning is unclear, but certainly not a military threat.

Yes, the Typhoons of the German Air Force had a major problem ... please note HAD and not yet HAVE! It. was a technical problem of an important board system. This is solved!
Correct is that the maintenance time on ground of the jets per flight hour are too high, but this is a general problem of the jet itself and all users of the jet ... and the US had these problems in the past with all jets too and still has the same problem with the F-22 and F-35!

The A400M transport plane is simply crap - point! It has to much problems but as in every country there are problems of political reason why crappy material is bought and not better foreign stuff like the latest C-130 Hercules for example!
The USA are a good example for it too ... their fleet of tank planes of Boing 707 origin had to be modernized with a new plane. Airbus won this competition clear against Boing and their KC-45 what is a Boing 767 and everyone still tells Aitbus had the better plane ... but the US politics invened and Boing was declared to have won - against the will of the US Air Force.

And about the submarines, only the half truth was told. Israel use these subs too and very succesful. Their need for spare parts was done by scrapping the German Navy subs and this is a political scandal but no core problem of German Navy!

 

I am pretty sure the atomic-artillery has been replaced with smaller missiles.

In fact, only 10 aircraft currently have all their systems functioning, because of a problem that has plagued the defensive aid subsystem (DASS) of Germany's version of the Typhoon.

You do realize that this has nothing to do with german abilities? The idea that you claimed that building a nuclear bomb or a delivery system would be problematic for Germany is laughable.

Germany belongs to the top 4 weapon producers in the world. Our defense industry is worldclass.

Unfortunately we have a weak bitch as chancellor. A women is always weak and never a good leader. This will change soon, until then it is like it is.
