By the way, these discussions were very interesting.

If Obama were a true capitalist, he would institute free-enterprise policies that create jobs so people who are now unemployed could go to work and use their new incomes to buy foreclosed houses at greatly reduced prices.

Instead, Obama the Socialist wants to raise taxes, print more money and give it to the big banks and companies like Solyndra which will also lose money and go bankrupt!

Here is a sobering report on how most Americana today are struggling very hard to survive.

If the Democrats would lower our taxes and reduce the size of government, these people could easily survive on the incomes they presently have.

 

You are aware that the rate of taxation is at its lowest point since before the Korean War? You are also aware that people in poverty pay little to know income tax? And lastly if you "reduce the size of government" that would likely increase the number in poverty as a government job is a middle class job, and a size reduction would likely mean a workforce reduction.

 

This claim is repeated often by the left, but it is completely untrue. The fee and tax structure is completely different now than it was in the 50's.

Simply looking at the published top marginal rate is a convenience with benefits only for those looking to make illegitimate arguments.

The existence of AMT alone defeats your claim.
