That there is massive demographic change happening in the US primarily due to legal and illegal immigration. Now, is that a theory, or is it really happening?

Certainly you understand that's not what bigots like Tucker Carlson are saying, right?

Click https://www.msnbc.com/all then, Buffalo gunman cited same racist ideology pushed by right-wing media

Well I'm not claiming to know all the tenets of "Great Replacement Conspiracy Theory." I'll leave that to the experts such as yourself. I only noted that Biden supported it.

Birth rates are certainly crashing but there are several places worldwide where that is much worse than the US. In Japan birthrates are crashing much harder than the US, but the Japanese are not being demographically reduced in Japan. The difference is they have very little immigration and we have an unprecedented amount of it.

I was watching an interview on Bloomberg the other day with an Australian economist. He was saying that closing their borders due to COVID for a few years has resulted in a worker shortage crisis. It can happen here.

The results of the 2020 census are a warning sign that America is on a course for slow population growth.

Economists broadly agree that population growth fuels economic growth in wealthy countries. But the recently released census figures show the US population was 331.5 million people, an increase of just 7.4 percent between 2010 and 2020 — the lowest rate since the 1930s. Projections suggest that, unless current trends change, those numbers could continue to diminish dramatically over the next two to three decades, with the population growing by just 78 million by 2060.

Some parts of the US are already beginning to experience some of the downsides of population slowdown or decline: Shrinking tax bases in rural areas have made it harder for government budgets to support essential services, such as infrastructure and public schools. As population growth slows, the pressure for cuts will likely grow. Meanwhile, the existing population will continue to age; by 2030, the Census Bureau estimates that one in five US residents will be of retirement age.

If a law is bad, do you believe it should be followed? I’m not saying go frivolously break laws that you find stupid, mind you. If all that stands between a person and a major improvement to their life circumstances is bad laws, I can’t blame them for breaking those laws.

Can you explain what you mean by “they come here in bad faith”?

Latinos are white, so the 'demographic change' is seen only if one argues they are not white enough.

unprecedented? Not even close to what we saw back in the day. Not-even-close. As a matter of fact 2021 was the slowest population growth rate in over 100 years.

In the 1800s the growth rate was.......wait for it.......over 30% per year, and before that it was even faster. Even in the 1950s the growth rate was twice compared to the typical year post 2000

Biden stated a fact and he supported nothing but what has historically become the central characteristic of America. We are the most diverse large nation in the world and this diversity is a main reason we are the planet's pre-eminent polity. We support and celebrate our diversity as we should, for it reinforces the other characteristic that has made us great, our liberty

Look at the nation that was our opponent in the Cold War. A nation that as long ago as the 1830s was prophesied to become our opponent in a conflict which would pit freedom vs subjection. They are well and truly vanquished now, a pitiful remnant of the mighty Empire they were just 33 years ago

(How strange it is that some of our own conservatives seem to be looking to that conquered country now as if it could have something we might profit by emulating)

Clearly Repubs are not in favor of the pluralistic, multi-racial, multi-religious society, bound by a common interest in self determination, that has made the country the best in the world.

No, it's historical. Less than 12% of blacks have voted for a Republican presidential candidate since Ford won 15% in 1972 until 2020 when Trump received 12%. Hispanics have been less loyal to the Democratic Party. But Trump’s 32% in 2020 was the highest since Reagan received 37% in 1984 with the exception of G.W. Bush who received 35 and 40% of the Hispanic vote in 2000 and 2004.

We were talking about Latinos. I think they'd be split more like 50/50 (like other whites) if the GOP didn't treat them like crap.

Where did I say racism doesn't exist? People have it in their minds that race = skin color. Or culture = race.
I just don't say call it racism. People really have issues with other skin colors or cultures. But it just gets labeled as racism.

Wages, IMO, started going down after that. When we started signing all the free trade agreements and shipped a bunch of jobs out of country to lower cost labor countries.
Our wages had no choice but to go down.
We transferred from a producing country with mfg to a service country.

Some people? Like those without the means to secure food, shelter, and healthcare?
You just recently posted that societies obligation is to secure a degree of order. How would people not having shelter, food, and healthcare secure that degree of order.
People will do what they have to in order to eat.

This very day, we don't have enough US citizens applying for all the jobs that are available.
Companies are recruiting workers from out of country to fill positions.
I posted link to a website that helps employers find out of country workers.

Thank goodness society is evolving to let people choose who and where they work for. And not forced to be property of another.

Increased population does lead to economic growth, but that economic growth is going to the 1% and not the average citizen. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer and the left has abandoned the working man.

And now it is time for a change. Increase productivity per worker through automation and stop increasing the number of workers who will just require more stuff. Economic growth through population growth is an endless treadmill and can't continue for ever.

Well I wrote what I thought was a pretty good summary of it a few days ago, but as you're the expert, if you have any notes, please add them.

Lol! That's a can of worms! Yes I agree that most Latinos are "white." But the left tends to treat Hispanics ( a made up census word) as a race. But that's not the end all, be all of demographic change.

I'm calling out your buddy who said that I claim that racism doesn't exist but yet he turns a blind eye to it when he sees it as long as it's directed at the right people.

If someone can literally say it is my sincere desire that no one even cares if white people exist in 500 years

And you have no problem with it until the word black replaces the word white then that's racist.

Literally means you think one is okay but the other is not simply based on skin color
