when these topics are discussed, some people suggest that climate change based upon greenhouse gasses are new ideas that are only promoted as a way that scientists enrich themselves based from government grants

According to wikipedia these scientific ideas have been around for almost two centuries
The existence of the greenhouse effect was argued for by Joseph Fourier in 1824. The argument and the evidence were further strengthened by Claude Pouillet in 1827 and 1838 and reasoned from experimental observations by Eunice Newton Foote in 1856.[7] John Tyndall expanded her work in 1859 by measuring radiative properties of a wider spectrum of greenhouse gases.[8] The effect was more fully quantified by Svante Arrhenius in 1896, who made the first quantitative prediction of global warming due to a hypothetical doubling of atmospheric carbon dioxide.[9] However, the term "greenhouse" was not used to refer to this effect by any of these scientists; the term was first used in this way by Nils Gustaf Ekholm in 1901.[10][11]
Another false suggestion is that there used to be something called “global warming”. But for some nefarious reason this term was discarded in favor if “climate change”.

the IPCC was created in 1988. So even thirty years ago the scientific concerns were labeled as climate change. Further, one has to consider that this must have been a scientific concern for many years before the IPCC was set up. scientific studies do not happen over night. concerns about possible impacts of greenhouse gasses first started in the 1800.... more than 150 years before any government funding for this research would have been available

Of course none of this information proves anything about climate change... except that it was not started and promoted by scientists seeking government grants... and there is no evidence of a nefarious plot to rename global warming as climate change

I don't think anybody believes greenhouse gases are a new idea.

some people seem to think the idea if greenhouse gasses originated recently as a chinese hoax (donald trump) , or originated from academic researchers looking for government funding. Also, it is interesting to explicitly recognize the fact that not only have the nature of greenhouse gasses has been long recognized, but the potential for these gasses to produce climate change has similarly been long recognized.... and further that a relatively accurate climate model was created based upon the very crude information available more often than 100 years ago.

I don't buy claims as to what Donald Trump thinks. If I were to, I'd have to believe he is a paranoid skitzophrenic.

The green house effect is why we don't freeze to death at night.

Are you saying that trump is a paranoid schizophrenic, or that you want proof that he said climate change is a chinese hoax, and then you will believe that he is a paranoid schizophrenic?

You are quite right that without the greenhouse effect we would freeze to death
Now all we have to do is to agree that is the greenhouse effect is sufficiently amplified we will broil to death instead
