The last time I complain about this site....

Join the club , the line starts at the corner Chic-fillet . . . have a beer as well ... would have used a smiley , but it won't transfer over , sheeshh , another fubar day on pf , sigh.

well now , that's not necessarily so , Mike . . .although it's probably true enough in most cases , PF being a free site , however , I feel sort of snookered myself , having donated several hundred dollars to the 'cause' since my joining PF. and yes , I know it's a free site , but like many others , we donated when we could and were glad to help out with a few dollars.

On this new PF , they haven't even acknowleged the donors with any type of recognition , and we've paid for that courtesy , we had them on the original PF , why aren't they here ?

 

Even sites like 4chan which have almost no rules at all can even turn a profit, so you're completely out of touch.

 

But he invented an excuse to use the word "racism" and really, that's all that matters.

 

Would you have preferred "zionism"? Just a guess! LOL

 

Let's not forget "bigot" and "homophobe"...make sure all the bases are covered.

 

With all of it's faults this site is still the best on the web. The people here are great too...they make the site what it is. Ignore the glitches and just enjoy knowing that you are on the best site.

Just one time, just once, I would like to actually see someone who has threatened to leave over the mild issues with the site actually leave.

The site is by far the largest political site I have ever been on and with the most daily posts, well over 2,000. I would imagine that is really stretching the capabilities of the vbulletin software.

 

Odd isn't it. They read the heated complaints, it then got problem free. Then an unveiled threat was posted, and it got bogged down again shortlly thereafter.

I am even more firmly convinced, that the site is suffering bot attacks and the site administrator has set up the program to knock everyone off constantly...to keep knocking the botters bots off. (because the botters bots cause much longer delays and access to the site, vs our continual relogging inconvienience).

 

Funny that it doesn't happen on other sites... even large ones like this. I still think we've been hacked. Whatever bugs have been implanted can be temporarily nullified by rebooting the server... but they always come back.

Even calling the man didn't fix anything... just cleared it out for a few hours.

What this mod does
With this mod you can enter User Agents to watch or ban, you can also recieve emails or have an Output.txt created and updated with time and date of visits. It doesn't just have to be spiders, you can watch, log or ban any useragent!

How to install
Simply import the product ban_spider, the mod is active by default but none of the other options are turned on.

Everybody just HANG IN THERE! PoliticalForum.com is by FAR the BEST debating website I EVER logged on to. I get so many different opinions I have a BALL debating here. I wouldn't think of going anywhere else because you and I both know they are SLANTED. this site is like HOLD YOUR OWN. and that's what I love about it. none of that BIG BROTHER MOD POWER TRIPPING the other sites love to do. This site allows you to SELF-REGULATE AND MOD YOURSELF....THAT'S CALLED BEING AN ADULT IN MY BOOK.

So shuttering be gone. I'm staying here.

 

That's what keeps us all here, 4Horsemen. But poor site performance is what keeps us from donating. Seems to me that alone would be motivation to fix the forum once and for all.

Maybe we should convert PF into a porn site? They never seem to have probs with porn sites having database errors.

Clearly whomever is managing it, lacks the ability or resources to do so efficiently.

Odd. I have seen no drop in "good' posts. Perhaps your story is not quite accurate?

That being said, I applaud Jcarl for being the one person who actually said they were leaving and left, as opposed to endlessly threatening to leave and endlessly complaining about it. Rarely have I seen folks who claim to be so disappointed and angry in a site stay at that site for so long.

 

I'm not really sure what it is, other than ridiculous.

As has been suggested previously, perhaps it would be in the best interest to explore the avenue of ad buys (funding for dedicated servers). I know of a smaller political forum, splintered from the old MySpace Political Forum, that has a couple paid banners, and runs seamlessly, using ~yuku~ versus vBulletin (perhaps another idea the Admin. might wish to consider).

To your earlier post specifically, logging in at 7 Am, you are likely unaware that what we are experiencing now, is after the site being down for a long period this morning for "maintenance".

*I tried to log in @ 2* ~ Interestingly enough, a couple hours later when I was finally able to log in, the first page I was directed to was, "Database Error"
