That's because he had just taken us into a friggingly stupid war and nobody trusted his judgment any more.

Don't forget, that would be a war the GOP lied to Congress about reasons to start, and a war that was not budgeted for but Treasury monies instead stolen for. Also that war was really a hostile corporate takeover attempt geared to directly benefit Haliburton, Blackwater etc. We the People are still paying for it without our informed consent.

The laws and punishment for treason must be occasionally renewed in order that people take them seriously.

The idea of "informed consent" is on lockdown. But then, I think, that is the way it has always been. Even the colonists would have stayed home if they knew what the elites were up to.

I'm pretty sure "staying home" is not what they'd be up to today. The elites are cutting their own throats. It's time to save them from themselves...

I guess my point is that the only people who had anything to gain by the Revolutionary War were the elites. Your typical soldier came without shoes and he left without shoes.

I think Obie has a little broader perspective than the daily Wall Street report.

So, will the GOP get serious about the 1% paying higher taxes to rescue the economy, or are they going to continue this parade of nonsense and distraction?

The public wants to know. Because any problems with the economy in 2014, and you know who voters are going to blame.

Emotional? Rational? Who cares? Fact is, you lost again. By a fat margin that is just going to get fatter.

No, the gay thing will win them a lot of votes with hispanics and hence the reason I rightly predicted the GOP would soften on immigration. But if they keep up the stonewalling of the economy, that might dangerously offset the quiet anti-gay marriage vote against them.

ie: there are tons of votes to be harvested from those silently opposed to gay marriage. And there are tons of votes to be harvested from the GOP stonewalling the economy. If one side or the other figured out its achilles heel, they'd get a landslide come 2014. But that would mean the dems recognizing that there is no other party that gays will vote for since the GOP is notoriously anti-gay and would repeal the repeal of DADT and many other gay inroads that are causing predictable social disturbances already: http://www.politicalforum.com/current-events/304108-military-suffers-wave-gay-sex-assaults.html & http://www.politicalforum.com/curre...boys-ages-13-29-getting-hiv-last-7-years.html

Just as if the GOP softened its stance on taxing itself in the emergency and funneling more assets into spurring growth into the economy they singlehandedly sacked, they'd be sure their ranks would never vote democrat just to spite them.

Most of them are obstructionists to anything the President wants.
