It was not written as a tax, yes Romney is right. So the law should be thrown out.

No, I am in the belief that if you want to protect yourself and your family, you get (*)(*)(*)(*)ing insurance. You don't wait, then get sick and cry "ohh I want insurance now." That is like not having auto insurance and then after you wreck your car, you want someone to insure you so you don't have to pay for it yourself.

Yes, charity groups have and continue to work with people to pay for their medical care.

There are thousands of groups that are willing to help. Also, what about family members and friends?

Just wow? The only wow I see is that you want people who actually work hard to pay for those who don't have. I donate money, I donate my time every year to help others. I don't need the government to take from me to use on what the government best sees fit.

Please show me the people being dumped under a bridge in their hospital gowns. Would love to see that picture and read the millions of stories about it. Thanks.

Let me ask you this. What is your life worth to you? Would you be willing to pay medical bills for the rest of your life just to survive?

I don't recall Romney asking for his healthcare law to be thrown out for enacting the same penalties. Do you?

His bill was a state bill.

You do know the difference between laws passed in states compared to federal law right?

Did I say millions? Or are you being overly dramatic and ridiculous?

But it is a FACT that dumping still happens, and that hospitals (even big, "Christians" hospitals are being fined for doing it and risk losing their medicare funding for that.

I guess it is much easier to shoot your mouth off and to attempt to ridicule people tha to try to inform yourself about the reality of health car in the US, so. . .shall I provide you with a link (or a few), or would REAL information be wasted on you because you prefer to listen to Limbaugh, Fox, or Ann Coulter?

No. Please enlighten me on how the executive, legislative, and judicial branches differ in Massachusetts vs. the United States and how it informs this issue.

Again who are these people being dumped.

you sit here and post and post and post and don't give any type of argument.

I have to ask again since you keep skipping the question.

What is your life worth to you?

When a law is passed in MA, it doesn't affect every citizen throughout the nation.

It only affects those living in MA.

Therefore, if you knew anything about our government you would not have to ask such a stupid question. Read the Constitution, than read the 10th amendment.

When a law is passed, it affects the lives of the constituents of that legislative body. That's exactly what I said. There is no difference except in scale; both laws are exactly the same. Romneycare = Obamacare.

No the laws are not exactly the same. Romney care is 12 pages long, Obamacare 2700.

    Please don't speak anymore.

You also won't "recall" [intentionally] that the Mass law has only a few dozen points and Romney VETOED 8 of those points. 7 of his vetoes were overridden by the Democratically controlled Mass Congress.

How many parts of the 2803 page obamaTAX plus references to 100,000 other pages, did b.o. attempt to VETO? The answer is a nice round number, O.

b.o. took whatever Pelosi, Reid, SEIU and ACORN gave him and signed it WITHOUT a clue of what was in the bill. I doubt he has read it YET!

Individual mandate? Check. Penalties for not having healthcare? Check. Extending health insurance to the poor? Check.

They laws are, in essence, the same thing; if the best you have is, "Well one's longer than the other!", you have lost the argument. Sorry.

A FLASH message for you. The SCOTUS decided that extending health insurance for the poor the way obamaTAX was written is UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

obamaTAX demanded of the 50 states that they greatly expand their Medicaid coverage at the states EXPENSE,,,,,,OR lose their present Medicaid federal funding. SCOTUS said that is not Constitutional. The Federal govt can request that the states expand their Medicaid to cover more of the poor but they CANNOT threaten them with the loss of funding if they don't.

So what was NOT a TAX, now IS a TAX and what was supposed to cover those who lacked coverage, now WILL NOT!

Congress could have set up special insurance for those with pre-existing conditions and allowed insurance companies to offer [Insurance companies WILL offer ANY insurance people want to BUY] policies where kids could remain on their family policies until 26.

And saved hundreds of thousands of pages of idiotic waste.

You realize the Heritage Foundation was the originator of the mandate, right?

WHEN did the Heritage Foundation pass ANY LAW, ANYWHERE? Do the writers of the old Star Trek series have a claim on royalties on cell phones? Their 'communicators' were exactly like cell phones.

Instead of trying to make lame excuses that would only restrict free thinking. Please remember that IDEAS, are not LAWS. Do I need to explain the difference?

"In 1993, Republicans twice introduced health care bills that contained an individual health insurance mandate. Advocates for those bills included prominent Republicans who today oppose the mandate including Orrin Hatch (R-UT), Charles Grassley (R-IA), Robert Bennett (R-UT), and Christopher Bond (R-MO). In 2007, Democrats and Republicans introduced a bi-partisan bill containing the mandate."

Ah NO grasshopper, those are not LAWS. Those are bills that were ALL defeated. So No Republican or Independent mandate laws were passed.

    Mandate laws that were passed.

The Mass healthcare law. Passed by a Democratic controlled state legislature, both houses in a historically LIBERAL state. Much of that law was VETOED [look it up] by the Republican Gov. Romney. The Democratic controlled legislature overrode ALL but 1 of Romney's vetoes. When VETOES are overridden, the bill becomes LAW whether the Gov. signs it or not. The Heritage Foundation did not have a vote.

And obamaTAX is the other mandate law passed. NOW DEEMED UNCONSTITUTIONAL AS A COMMERCE CLAUSE MANDATE, but surviving as a TAX. obamaTAX was passed by a Democratic controlled Senate and a Democratic controlled House. A number of DEMOCRATS had to be threatened, coerced and bribed to vote FOR obamaTAX. b.o. made NO attempt to veto any part of obamaTAX. He had NO IDEA what was in it. I'm certain he still does not. He IS a lazy president, counting on others to do ANY heavy lifting for him. The Heritage Foundation did not have a vote.

And IF the mandate is so good in obamaTAX, WHY then are loony liberals trying to lamely and desperately, BLAME the mandate on conservatives.
Perhaps you also KNOW it is a piece of Sxxx that must be repealed?

Yes, they were "laws" that weren't passed; whose fault is it that your dumbass party couldn't get the votes?

I'm not "blaming" the mandate on anyone; we needed either the mandate OR single payer, though I would have preferred the latter.

Is English NOT your first language? There is no such thing as a LAW that was never passed. There are only bills that never passed. and even some bills that passed the house, HB-xx AND the Senate, SB-xx that were VETOED and never became LAWS.

And since I'm a registered INDEPENDENT, what dumbass party are you referring to? The Democrat Party is the only dumbass Party that ever passed a mandate law, on a state or federal level.

Bob and weave all you want. The unconstitutional mandate may just be the blow that knocks out the incompetent fool b.o. The economy and his failed policies already have him hanging on the ropes.

There are so many other penalties, taxes, regulations, new beauracracies, limits, caps, IRS regs etc.

It doesn't compare to Romney's plan, not one (*)(*)(*)(*)ing iota.

Yeah, you sure are an independent; "liberalism,, the new front name for,, communism"

Those are LAWS that did not pass. Conservatives wanted a mandate to stop the freeloaders. That's a FACT. You only didn't want it after Obama adopted the idea, which is supported by the fact that Romney campaigned on the mandate in 08.

With the creation of Romneycare in Massachusetts, who did you think was going to pick up the penalties, taxes, write and enforce regulations, limits, caps, ect? The Department of Motor Vehicles?

Surely you can't be this uninformed on the subject. This is amazing.

The Obama administration used the same advisers and experts that Massachusetts used for their plan. The only thing that the Affordable Care Act is missing is Romney's signature. It's the same plan, only on a grander scale.

    No more tears please.
