I prefer yellow swallowtails, but there is nothing quite like 10,000 Monarch Butterflies rising from a flowered hedge..

I became fascinated with the concept of beauty, I guess when I had an out of body experience; when I first looked into the eyes of the woman I loved more than life itself in about five seconds. And I'm not exaggerating. I realized that we can fall in love with beauty. It has the power to move the hearts of men and launch a thousand ships. It can be overwhelming and incapacitating. Perhaps there was something much deeper in play, but on the face of it, I took one look and lost control of my life. The love of beauty is the most powerful experience I have ever had.

I can relate. Beauty is a wonderful thing.

When I was in art school the so-called "Ugly Art" movement was big - evidently some artists felt they needed to make the point that art didn't need to be beautiful to be art. While I got the point, it wasn't one I necessarily agreed with, and I thought their "art" was crap, both visually and intellectually. It was too Nihilistic for me. I come from the school that believes art should be beautiful or inspiring or illuminating - something that uplifts the human spirit.

In a way, I share the sentiments that William Faulkner expressed in his Nobel Prize address - this little speech may be the greatest thing he ever wrote....

Funny aside, Maryanne and Gilligan became close personal friends. And she was his pot supplier. LOL!!! At one point he got busted. Later she talked about it.

The sad fact is, if they are beautiful enough, no amount of maintenance is too much. :D One day after I had fallen madly in love with my first sugar baby but before she began to reciprocate, before ever imagined we would be together for three years, I realized that I would be willing to do just about anything if it would make her mine forever. So what would I be willing to do to have her? I asked myself, just for kicks. I honestly couldn't imagine my limit. Would I give her everything I have? That's a no brainer. In a heartbeat. Would I be willing to give up family, friends, my career? Not even a hard question. In a heartbeat. About now I was getting worried. At this point in my life I was being brutally honest with myself like I never had before. Would I be willing to steal? Yes. Would I be willing to rob a bank? ..........Yes. Would I be willing to die if I could have her for 5 years? .....Yes
Would I be willing to kill...? At that point I stopped because I couldn't bear to acknowledge what I really felt. I was completely out of control.

However, if there is such a thing as soul mates exists, her beauty might have been a function of that and not just her external beauty. But whether it was her inner beauty or her external beauty, it was still all about beauty. I was very lucky that she was a very kind and loving person. She could have abused me to death.

Great story .. and the 'harness' is called a halter (they shouldn't have them on when out in the field, FTR).

The Arabian horse is indeed one of the greatest achievements of the gods. An incredibly beautiful animal .. and so very different to all other breeds. More intelligent, FAR more athletic, and heck .. they even have one less vertebra than regular horses!

Incidentally, this horse was the US National Champion stallion in 2014.

As a young teen, I had them all many times.

Grandpa? Hell no. Age is a state of mind, diet, and exercise. You can be old. I gave it up. ;)

Sure, but 'state of mind' doesn't mean thinking like a 25 year old. It means keeping sharp and curious. But I agree that diet and exercise are very important. A firm and strong body is the bare minimum at any age.

And as for 'being old', I have absolutely no problem at all with being obviously over 45. Could not possibly care less about grey hair and wrinkles, since I'm not competing for breeding rights. As long as I'm very fit, classy, and retain a sense of humour - I'm good.

I beat back the years with with an elliptical, weights, keto, and most importantly, beautiful women. Beautiful young women saved my life. No doubt about it. I'm sticking with what works. I can be old after I die.

Thinking like a 25 year old? No, I am thinking like a man who is in a position to do what he wants; and who isn't already dead.
