Although Trump will always retain a certain devotion from a close circle of conservatives, the vast majority of moderate Republican politicians who have had to remain silent in the face of his antics will sooner or later turn against him.

Trump built an enormous cult of personality that allowed him to impose his political agenda, even though many of his actions ran counter to the ideas that have always been at the root of Republican politics.

His departure will therefore leave a huge void behind him and I firmly believe that he will attempt a return to the 2024 nomination or he will noisily support one of his children: Ivanka or Donald Jr.

What do you think about that?

I think that Trump may have a bit of a surprise waiting for him on the 20th of Jan. from the New York District Attorney's office - but I wouldn't
be surprised to see Donald Jr. continue the family scam in the future.

It's AMERICA FIRST party now, the working class party. It's how they will continue growing and winning elections.

By January, Trump's two priorities will be:

1- revenge against all those he considers responsible for his defeat, rightly or wrongly.

2- find a way to obtain a pardon to avoid the lawsuits that await him at the exit.

As for Donald Jr.'s political aspirations, to say that he lacks his father's charisma and eloquence is an understatement.

I think Donald is going to hide in Russia.
His best friend Putin will help him.

Otherwise, a prison cell is likely to be his new home in America, at least because of his tax offenses. :)

Nah... the MAGA America First party is not going anywhere. and you're right to be terrified and hopeful that it will go away... but it won't.

Like you, I hope that MAGA will stay. But for totally different reasons.

    Trump has just been defeated.

The republican establishment will do everything in its power to make sure he doesn't come back.

But knowing Trump, he will soon be in open war with all the moderate conservatives in the country and he will use his influence to undermine a possible reconstruction of the GOP where he is excluded.

    I already bought my popcorn.

Did you know that Trump is factually harder on Russia than any US president in the post-Cold War era? (1)

But you probably did not know that, watching CNN all day long, hanging with your boy Fredo.

If Trump decides to run in 2024, he'll win. He won't run though his disciples will run on MAGA, America First platform and after 4 years of Biden's lame duck presidency and stagnant economy, they'll win in a landslide.

So he will prevent the GOP from reconstructing into the spineless party of before?

    Awesome!

Let me get some of that popcorn, bud!

Yeah, sure. Your credibility is not that great now. You thought Trump would win this one, right? Well, he didn't.
More likely, Trump will be in prison at the time. Unless he flees to Moscow, LOL.

Pardon or not, a presidential pardon doesn't have ANY POWER over a STATE prosecutor.
It's the State of New York that will put him in prison.
If he gets bored, Hillary Clinton can visit him in prison and bring him some reading material: 30,000 emails.

The Republicans picked up seats in the House, won Senate races that, according to the fake news polls, they were not supposed to win (i.e. Lindsey Graham and Susan Collins), increased the number of Latinos voting for Trump, and, if he loses to Biden, did not lose in the landslide as lied about by the aforementioned fake news polls. So we are winning elections; we did win elections in 2020. There was no blue wave, you Democrat.

I respect people who are honest about who they are. For example, I respect Golem waaaay more than the person whom I was replying to. At least Golem let's you know he's a Democrat: he does not pretend for months to be on the fence, and now, all of a sudden, acts like a Democrat cheerleader. Such behavior should be ridiculed by both sides of this forum. Be completely transparent; don't present some false facade.

If they try to follow the trump model, they will also fail.
Maybe they should stop wallowing in QAnon bullshit and pick up a broom and help make America great again.
Here’s a good article on how we can really work to make America great again.
Read the whole thing at the link. It’s much better than continuing to wallow in trump’s demagoguery.

    A disastrous loss for Trump, and I also blame his loyalists, and here’s why;

Not one of them had the guts to tell Trump “Not to make fun of a deadly disease”. Instead, all cheered and applauded his Kong-Flu remarks.

In addition, all cheered, and applauded every unethical and idiotic remarks that were spewed by Trump. What kinds of people do that? COWARDS!

Yep, they just quietly road the Trump train and then have quietly sidled off and think it's all going to be ok.

Admittedly, a few of them have stood up to Trump on occasion but they were old enemies anyhow.

I'm not going to comment on your relationship with Centerfield, but just to point out there are a bunch of conservatives and Republicans that openly loathe Trump.

I think Centerfield was open about this from the start. Again, it's not my place to fight for anyone just pointing out what I've seen.
