You are either misinformed, or that is an outright lie.

First off, this issue only pertains to undergraduate loans. Graduate loans are at 6.8% and will stay at 6.8%.

Second, all student loans were intended to be a 6.8%, but they were temporarily lowered to 3.4% for undergraduates. That temporary time period is running out and WILL run out if it is not extended.

Third, the republicans are all in favor of keeping the undergraduate loans at 3.4% if a method to pay for it is identified.

Nice cut & paste job. Nothing like deep thinking to work up an appetite for lunch, huh?

When he was a senator and the vote came up for student loan bills, he voted present. Now he pretends it's important enough to him to fly all over the country talking about it. *yawn* Nothing new here, folks. Politics as usual.

Romney has a huge advantage with his speeches.

Hindsight is very valuable to the challenger, because for everything that didn't go well for Obama...all Romney has to do is make something up about what he would have done, and how that would have worked.

Combine that with the obsession righties have with getting Obama out of the white house...and untill November, righties will be living in the same type of fantasy world Obama supporters lived un during most of 2008.

The thing I like about Romney has a lot to do with why I like Obama.

They are both pragmatists. Romney's decisions as governor of liberal Massachussettes were well suited to the liberal majority, and if he's elected POTUS, I believe he'll shake those crazy Christian social issues off of his leg.

I still don't believe Romney or Obama can heal our economy, because if a president could, it would never get bad.

But we're alot better off with Romney than some loony bird like Santorum, or and ego maniac of questionable moral character like Gingrich.

Don't know if the "out of 4000" is even true....but what I will say is that it was more what he voted "present" on that really matters...the tough votes. He's always worried about re-election....period.

Tell us what happened when you supposedly worked for the romney team? Love to know.

Yes, totally agree on all point!

Romney and Obama are really not very different on anything. Except that Obama has a broader view of the world and has personal experience with lower middle class upbringing, which obviously colors one's empathy and understanding of the issues faced by the middle class.

But, As I said six months ago, Romney is the best of all the GOP candidate, because he is more centered, and more pragmatic, and . . .more like Obama!

His being elected as the GOP candidate sure sends a strong message to all extremists and even the tea party though!

Tea party has failed into bringing America back 200 years, and that's a good thing!

Wrong! Obama was not present for the vote, neither of the two votes actually!
But, since at that time, there was broad bi-partisan support, there was NEVER any doubt that the bill would pass.
So his vote, one way or another, was a moot point.

Today, the issue has a lot less bi-partisan support, and Obama is fighting hard to raise the likelihood that the extension will be approved.

Wrong again! The student loan votes in 2007 were NOT tough votes. . .they actually passed 78 to 19! And Obama was NOT present for the votes!

We'll see how PinkSlip fares in the general when somebody besides rich right wing hacks get to have a say.

Actually, there IS strong bi-partisan support for the bill itself. It is the issue of how to pay for it that is causing the discussions.

It is a 'class' thing...the left had none when Bush was President. I strive to demonstrate more class than they did.

He'll get the super rich vote....nobody else. He's despised on the left, and barely tolerated on the right. He's sub meat in November. PinkSlip in 2012....NOT!!!

You really think there's a chance in Hell that PinkSlip could win the Presidency? He's a bad car salesman...a rich kid with a gold spoon shoved up his rear end. Regular people hate him. Young people hate him. Hipanics hate him. Blacks hate him. Women hate him. Poor people hate him. He couldn't win president of my kids tree house.

Actually, I consider a Romney win, and a big one at that, to be almost a forgone conclusion...BoBo owns the mess, his minions in the Congress are inept and do not hold enough seats to pass legislation so as to buy votes this year. Europe is in deep trouble and BoBo cannot do anything about that either. His spouse is spending a fortune on monthly exotic vacations on the taxpayer dime, Biden is an idiot...why, everything is trending Romney's way.

As to you litany of groups that 'hate' Romney...'Regular' folk with jobs do not hate Romney, just folk with their hands out. The dems always get the black vote, the women's vote BoBo will get is the same as the women's vote the left always gets, the minority women's vote. They have not taken the white women's vote in decades.

I could put together a list of groups that will support Romney but only the left is a collage of disparate victim groups. The folk I would list are Americas normal and employed...taxpayers.

So when things get goin' big time in the prelude to November, when Clinton campaigns for him, when Hollywood gets behind him, when women get behind him, Latinos, Blacks, and with his overall popularity, the fact that he DID save GM, he DID get OBL, he DID end the Iraq mess, he IS ending Afghanistan, the economy is coming back, the stock market is doing well, do you really think PinkSlip will come out on top??? Really???

On a side note, right wingers blamed Obama for high gas prices too. They're coming down now. Does Obama get the credit for that or is it because of some right wing something or other?

You are assuming a lot of stuff not in evidence. BoBo is barely keeping it going at this point. He sold out a dissident in China, an event that has yet to finish playing out. His Attorney General is facing a contempt of congress call. The markets ARE shaky despite the irrational optimism of the daily numbers. Unemployment is getting worse, not better. Yesterday's numbers were awful. Spain just dropped into double dip recession and the UK did the same a week or so ago...GM was 'saved' to keep that union alive and it cost a fortune as well as the loss of a lot of buyers.

Yes, I believe today that Romney will win easily...by August we will see a building landslide for Romney. BoBo might have lost two big court cases and we will have seen a summer of the occupy trash acting out and disgusting most Americans.

I hope your memory is as sharp as your rhetoric come the middle of November.

I'm definitely impressed with his public speaking ability. And the content of his speech was, for the most part, very good. But anyone can say those things so hopefully if he does get elected he can stay true to his word.

My memory will be fine, thank you. PinkSlip is universally disliked outside the right wing world (and even in parts of it). He is a stuffed shirt, mannequin like, super rich corporate tycoon. I don't know whether or not you may have heard this, but, corporations and their kings are falling out of favor these days.

I sort of agree with the Newt his take (from the opposite perspective of course), that "anybody" on the left is a better candidate than this far right, corporate rapist. Rich people will probably vote for him, but regular America will not. I'll be here in November. I'll look you up.
