    I hope he doesn't put this issue ahead of the more important issue concerning people not being able to upload avatars and pictures.

    What??

    I don't want to use one of the stock avatars. I don't want it to be of a cat or dog or something everyone else has. I want to be unique.

    Yes, and its very annoying...I am in France at the moment and I was getting the stupid announcement at 3-4 AM EST when I was probably the only person on the planet trying to post.

    As much as I'm enjoying the conspiracy theories, I'm surprised Jarrod from Subway hasn't been mentioned, there is a simple explaination and it doesn't involve bleach. All websites use some form of HTML and PHP languages on their pages. It appears that the host server (big ass computer with a killer internet connection) where this site resides has recently upgraded to a new version of PHP which is causing some problems such as we've seen and the inability upload avatars. It may take some time to get all the configuration files squared away or an upgrade of the vbulletin software that runs this site to be performed. Of course it could be that there was a kiddy porn site on the same server and Jarrod tweeted how good the site was and his 23 million followers crashed it.

    Don't pay it too much mind, philosophers tend to be loners. That's why we've got to stick together. Besides, this thread is immensely valuable to anyone else running into the same problems. And I had the same idea as Cerberus until I read otherwise.

    Well it looks like it ain't gonna be happenin cause I'm fixin to give up on this site. Busy server plus no avatar uploads plus other issues have me looking for other political forums.
    Or maybe I'll just spend my spare time hacking into the DNC. What?? I'm part Russian so apparently that makes it okay :)

    They all suck in contrast. I have tried to leave this site a few times. They will resolve the issue. Russian or not, you are a 25 year old woman... you can do... pretty much whatever you want. It is a charming time in your life. Enjoy it.

    Food for thought- I play on the King of the Hill wargame servers a lot and you can buy a 'Reserved Slot' which guarantees you'll always be able to get in. The advantage is that serious players will usually buy a Slot, whereas non-serious players won't, so the overall quality of membership is improved as it keeps any Tom Dick Harry from wandering in off the street and cluttering things up..:)

    PS- The PF forum boasts 4000 posts a day which sounds good on paper, but it's impossible for us to read more than a small fraction each day anyway, so maybe membership should be restricted purely to those who donate, that'd cut down the 4000 to a more comfortable level.
    How is PF funded anyway?
