…So what do we have here?

The Democrats are indifferent to the people’s sufferings and have a proclivity toward totalitarianism. The mainstream media, social media giants, and government agencies are lackeys for the Democrats. A significant number in the opposition is siding with the Democrats.

Clearly, this is a one-party system masquerading as democracy.

The result is that the citizen, who is already suffering due to Democrat misgovernance, is relentlessly subjected to misinformation, mandates, restrictions, demonization, and intimidation.

This is what President Trump referred to as the swamp, which is a self-serving, self-protecting, self-promoting cabal that feeds off citizens as parasites feed off their host.

Is there a way to drain this swamp?

There are a few obvious measures that are unlikely to be implemented but worth mentioning.

Term limits for all elected officials, including lawmakers.

Recall facility for all elected officials, including lawmakers, at any point in their term.

Placing a cap on the amount that can be spent on electoral campaigns and preventing relatives from working on campaigns.

An end to congressional and government agency stock trading.

Mandating that most votes be cast and counted on Election Day and Election Night, respectively.

Mandatory transfers of government agencies’ personnel after a specific period and shifting offices away from D.C.

Periodic audits of various government agencies with results presented to the public….

We need to drain the swamp for good. The Deep State is a clear and present danger to we the people of the United States. That the mainstream media, big tech social media, and academia are willing accomplices with it and advancing its propaganda makes it all the more dangerous to our republic.

Unless the incoming majority of House Republicans deliver on their stated agendas we might as well pack it up and say goodbye to democracy as we once knew it.

Uh...if that's the standard you might want to go ahead and start packing now, based on previous worthless Republican Congresses.

The most we will see from the House is investigations and reports to the DOJ... and do you really think the DOJ will do anything with them..... nope...
the DOJ may well not do anything with subpoena deniers...
But the reality of it is......if they just start investigating and televising it like the select committee did... they won't get anything done because they will have limited powers... but it might wake some folks up..

    One man awake awakens another.
A second awakens his next-door brother.
Three awake can rouse a town,
by turning the whole place upside down.
    Many awake can make such a fuss;
it finally awakens the rest of us.
One man up with dawn in his eyes,
    surely then multiplies.

    Perhaps.

Periodic audits of various government agencies with results presented to the public….

We already have that in GAO reports ...
Of course, Republicans hated that because the GAO reported how much Trump spent on golfing ($120 million) and how much the Secret
Service had to spend on staying at Trump golf properties. Doesn't do any good to report these numbers if partisans just
say they don't care - which is precisely what Trump supporters said.

Mandating that most votes be cast and counted on Election Day and Election Night, respectively.

Fine, but first Republicans are going to have to double the number of voting stations to handle a tremendous increase in in-person
voting, and increase the number of trained personnel to manage said voting stations ... but wait, Republicans have already REDUCED
the number of voting stations in their districts and demonized voting station volunteers to the point where we can't even staff
    the ones we still have.

Placing a cap on the amount that can be spent on electoral campaigns and preventing relatives from working on campaigns.
    .

Great - but the Conservative Supreme Court already ruled in Citizens United that you can't limit said donations ... so the
only way to change that is to put in liberal justices.

So are incompetent Republicans. This one refers to them too. Look into Mitch McConnell, mitt Romney, Lindsey Graham, and the Cheneys.

These are the people that prevented the Red Wave.

Don't fall for this tribalism and it's to keep you from thinking about what I said.

~ At this point USA government is lawless and unaccountable to " we the people ". They boldly misrepresent their agenda to a compliant populace who have blindly trusted elected officials far too long .
Sadly the spirit of the Boston Tea Party is long gone. Americans have lost courage and are too submissive to government. They would never band together for an "income tax strike" or other resistance.
Remember that many Americans believe in the current state of affairs. A scary thought for some of us.

In government circles, $120 million is loose change.

I tend to think of it this way: $1 billion is about $3 per person in the US. $120 million amounts to about 36 cents per person in the US. I will never miss that 36 cents.

Scarier thought is that a number of people actually believe what TRUMP says ...

Both parties suck - but Trump is a whole new level of ****ed up.

The establishment globalist elites in the GOP are almost as bad as the democrats and worse that they are betraying us from inside a party they no longer control and never again will. Once Mc Connell is retired from office, their power over us will end.

No no they're worse they can do real damage. They did out of spite because conservatives shows Trump and not their boy. And no I don't think it ends with McConnell because there's also mitt Romney and Chris Christie and the Cheneys are still around.

These are mono-partiest which means one party that doesn't represent you. I think it's time to quit thinking of things in terms of Republican and Democrat.

~ I agree. We may get a "show of shows" — a production of Capitola Hill to feed the media and keep the dumbed-down full of false hope.
This time only "we the people " can actually restore America .

There's always another Establishment traitor waiting in the wings

Bob Dole retires, McConnell steps in; Bush runs out of time, Romney and McCain are standing right there to move up.

    Gingrich, Boehner, Ryan, McCarthy, etc.

They're all loyal to the Establishment, and traitors to the country.

There isn't a dimes worth of difference between any of them and the Establishment Democrats

Lol...yeah, back in the good ole days of trump trying to steal elections and suborn officials to follow his seditious orders and incite violent insurrections, eh?
    You're not fooling anyone.
The propensity for this level of chicken little hysteria seems to grow as trump sinks deeper and deeper in the consequences of his actions.
I expect gnashing of teeth and calls to armed revolution if they actually indict trump for his crimes.
Anyone who is prepared to put that malignant narcissist ahead of his country should take a hard look at themselves.

I suppose the fact that Trump's fading popularity even among those that once supported him has failed to sink past your hatred of the orange man. Most of us are hoping for a more viable candidate in 2024, but if one fails to materialize Trump would be far better than the senile man currently destroying the country or any of the other idiots vying for the spot.

Nice job of taking a few good non-partisian suggestions and turning them into a 'hate Trump, hate republicans, and hate conservatives' reply. Brother it ain't just the republicans, conservatives, or Trump -- it's also the Bidens/Obamas/Clintons, the liberals, and the democrats. I think the suggestions offered if enacted would help our republic as a whole.

The problem here is that people think elections fix government. They do not and haven't in my lifetime. They just change the names on the office doors. Things always go on as the swamp considers normal. The only benefit democracy has for us is those different names on the office doors. Without that we would have an authoritarian system. People expect too much from democracy. It is very imperfect but still better than whatever is in second place.
