    Part of the alarmists argument is to move away from crude oil. Specifically, they want to move away from petrol and diesel. There are some 6,000 products extracted from crude oil. The many products derived from crude oil are required by deniers and alarmists, we can't get away from them. So if we need oil, what will happen to the petrol and diesel part of the process, or can these be processed into some other product?

    But that's by the by, alarmists certainly still need oil for sulphur and plastics. Anyone willing to research oil will probably find hundreds of everyday applications for it's need.

    The alarmist rhetoric doesn't come from the direct reports, those are just that, reports, and they show the data and trends, etc. The average person isn't reading that raw data report you linked and even policy makers mostly aren't reading those. They have people to read that stuff for them then tell them what it says and make recommendations. Sometimes its the climate change scientists themselves and sometimes it's the policy makers who get on TV and say this sort of stuff. No responsible scientist or politician needs to be saying something like we're all screwed within the next 10 years if we don't take unrealistic drastic action immediately during a televised interview or press conference or something. Yet that sort of rhetoric is used all the time by some of these people in public.

    Then you couple that with pop culture and Netflix documentaries echoing this sort of narrative and certain influential portions of society see that and freak out thinking we're all doomed. A poll conducted a couple years ago stated that nearly 1/3rd of Millennials and an even higher rate for Gen Z who have chosen to not have children have made that choice directly due to being worried about climate change. Either not wanting to contribute to "overpopulation" or believing their children would grow up in a horrible world due to the dramatic effects of climate change so they choose to not procreate instead. It's sad, if you are a young person living in a 1st world nation then go have kids if you so desire they will be perfectly fine when they grow up. The world isn't going to magically turn into Mad Max because of climate change by the time your kids grow up. Folks need to stop believing crap like that.

    No the worlds oceans will not run out of fish in the next 25 damn years like that stupid Seaspiracy documentary is telling people
    No the planet isn't going to magically turn into Venus in 2050 due to greenhouse effect
    No the polar ice caps aren't going to melt overnight and flood all of Florida
    No we aren't going to run out of food and all starve
    Yes we are hurting the planet and destroying ecosystems and cutting down the rainforests to make room for cows because people like beef. But if you're hot then turn your air conditioner on, it's OKAY. Of course do what you can to lower your own carbon footprint, rally for governments to reduce harm on a larger scale, but don't freak people out to where they start slashing tires or aborting their kids because they are terrified. Even if we said screw it and changed NOTHING AT ALL the kids born today are going to grow up in a world that does look and function like the world. It won't be Venus or post apocalyptic hell. Sure they may not be any more Rhino's or Tigers left roaming wild but people in developed nations aren't going to be starving to death in the streets or suffocating because the air is too polluted.
