So, let's talk about the U.N., shall we? I think the UN has become a pretty useless organization and should be dismantled. How about you?
It's a diplomatic institution. A place where diplomats all go to meet. Not really all that needed in the telecommunications era. But OK as long as you aren't imagining it to be a world government or legislative body. In which case you may be quite disappointed by it.
Like many institutions created with a noble mission, over time they become weighed down by bureaucratic malaise, and competing objectives. The UN, as a international body, remains a good idea in principle, but in it's current state, it is worthless. If it were dismantled, I don't know what would replace it. If it were reformed, I don't know how those reforms could be agreed on. Perhaps the best answer is to stop considering the UN to be something it no longer is, and see it as nothing more than a think tank for international discussion, with no power, and no mandate.
I'm not a typical Italian [Italians are generally UN lovers and worshipers]. So, don't take my stance [to dismantle UN] as an Italian stance. It's a personal opinion.
