PHEVs actually outsold EVs. Some of BYDs PHEVs have electrical range of about 75 miles. That would be enough for 99% of my trips. C’mon US - let me buy one of these cars!

You're welcome to anytime they get the stones to meet our regulatory requirements.

And you really have to question why they don't.

    Word is spreading.
A smattering of BYD quality issues have become public, including complaints about paint and plastics peeling in Thailand and vehicles warping under the weight of roof racks in Israel, where its EV sales have been strong.

Having Overtaken Tesla, BYD Is Running Into Problems ...

You’re kind of making my point. Both Europe and Japan are down on BYD. You can cite hundreds of articles. Don’t expect much good news from these countries. BYD will just keep on breaking records despite them.

And years ago we talked on this same forum, and you said EVs weren’t going to take off. And here we are - the largest seller of cars in the world is all Electric!

I don't recall such an exchange but I'll take your word for it.
EV market share remains minor. EV on-the-road share is microscopic.

No. You must buy a politically correct car.

As mentioned- expect more and more hype against Chinese EVs not just in the US, but throughout the world. These incredible sales are despite the anti-China sentiment.

How many more billions of dollars will China give to BYD to continue to sell their EV's at a loss to increase volume for the political optics of China having the most popular EV in the world? I mean they are already 4 billion in on this one manufacturer. I mean I know they tend to be rather wasteful building unoccupied modern ghost cities to create the illusion of being a modern country, but eventually they will run out of cash.

BYD isn’t selling vehicles at a loss in other countries, only in China. It’s dog-eat-dog there.

And $4 billion. The US fought a $6T oil war in Iraq, and came away with nothing. I’d say the Chinese government is ahead on this count.

Iraq was not an oil war.

They are selling them at a loss in China and then marking up exports to try to make a profit since they can't at home. That mark up is why they have fallen behind Tesla again.

Yes this is true. I heard that there are 92 companies in China making EVs. They are trying to weed some out. It has worked a little, as a few of the companies have declared bankruptcy.

Mostly because of the actions of governments forcing it which you will ignore because you are not being rational.

Incentives are a good solution if they are for the betterment of society. The conversion of power from batteries to an electric motor is 2-3x more efficient than the conversion of gasoline to power a gas engine. Plus the recapture of braking energy is also much more efficient. EVs can also be powered by renewables. Win-win-win!!!

Ha ha ha, now you talk like a socialist who support government to force purchasing inferior vehicles that needs a massive subsidy and tax breaks to make them bi able but now people are realizing they have a TERRIBLE resale value coming up are causing declines in sales in various places while the same governments are banning superior vehicles with good resale value to FORCE people to buy EV's it is a vile development you seem to be ignoring.

You are shill for an industry that governments prop up that is what you make clear in your chronically one sided presentations.
