It was an homage to Biden's family roots.

    Never been a Democrat.

How's the roulette wheel going? Don't bet on black. Never, ever, ever bet on black. Red only. MAGA!

In the garden of Eden sat Adam
Stroking the loins of his madam
    And his smiling lip curled
'cause he knew in the world
There were only two nuts and he had 'em

Isn't conflict peacefully settled a form of unity? I'm pretty sure that's what Biden means. From vocabulary.com:

"Unity is being together or at one with someone or something. It's the opposite of being divided. This is a word for togetherness or oneness. When the north won the Civil War, it assured the unity of the United States."

I don't see evil in that. Do you have a different definition?

Now here's a fine example of elitist attitudes.

No, the poem was no Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock. It was a benediction to a solemn political ritual, fit to be understood at the moment it was being delivered. It was very well suited to that purpose. If your problem is with the actual themes of the poem, it's cheap to instead harrumph about the style.

And when the democrats win an election it assures the unity of the United States? Takes more than that. It takes respect.

No. Simple as that. Unity doesn't mean the same thing as agreement. or compromise, Unity is singularity. And no, when the north prevailed in the civil war, they didn't create unity. It simply ended the conflict. The ideological differences that to this day define the racism of democrats remained.

It was a bad poem, and likely partially lifted from an Atlanta Falcons TV commercial from a few years back. Acknowledging that is not elitist in any way. To repeat, would say the same about any author at any event presenting such dreck. Eh, I'd probably applaud and praise it if a 12 year old or younger composed it, but that's about it. Was the poet at the Authoritarian Empire Inauguration 12 or younger? If so, I take my criticism back and apologize.

Why do you find comfort in correctly pointing out Dem's past racist support for slavery when those who are prejudiced against blacks these days have mostly found a home in the GOP?

It's inherent in their policy to this day. They simply changed the term slavery to structural dependence. Tell me the difference again?

Oh... and unity. there must be unity.

Doubling down, of course. Just as classy as I would expect.

Look, already accommodated to an extent. If she was 12 or younger writing at a 16 year old or so level, then it was a decent poem.

    Just googled it, 22... ouchie.

This is yet another belief you hold that is nothing more than a talking point. Unless you want to try to prove me wrong.

Is there any chance of ever getting you to provide the source(s) for these assertions? How did you come to that conclusion?

How pathetic does one have to be to blow sunshine at mediocrity? I guess pretty pathetic in "trophy for everyone" effeminate culture.

Some of the world's great poets were in the prime of their genius at 22. The one at the Authoritarian Empire Inauguration isn't one of those though, and will never be one of those.

    Respect must be earned.

I'm of two minds about the current drama taking place in congress. On the one hand, forgetting and forgiving in order to move on and get some real work done to benefit we the people is an admirable goal. On the other hand, those who aided and abetted the rioters, even if only by continuing to spew the "stolen election" lie that got the mob there in the first place, need to be held accountable.

The more I contemplate those two distinctly separate directions, the more I lead towards the latter. How else do we teach the concept of consequences? Not to mention justice.

The conclusion I am left to draw is he is embarrassed to show his sources cuz they will be ripped to shreds.
