Think gay sex is wrong? Then you’re not right in the head, claim scientists

The reason the gov't can't do that is precisely why they CAN force a store to serve gays. Because being Jewish or Muslim is a choice. Being gay is not. Refusing to serve gays is NO different than refusing to serve blacks.

The act of gay sex isn't the issue here. It is the denial that homosexuality is unnatural. If you believe that, fine. Go ahead and believe it. But to take that belief into action and deny a gay couple service on the account you don't believe their union is valid is ridiculous. If my religion said all Christian couples were unnatural, should I have the right to not serve them ?

Nah. I agree that a baker shouldn't have to bake a cake for anyone s/he doesn't want to, but it's baloney to say that nobody is looking to deny anyone the right to have gay sex.

    Bal-on-ey.

It's pure superstition, nothing more. People have the right to be superstitious. If they want to believe that homosexuality came into the world because a man made of clay and a woman made from a rib disobeyed a sky spirit and ate magic fruit from a talking snake, so be it. But it's hard to find a better example of an extreme and irrational aversion. "Phobia" fits the bill quite nicely.

Remember... it was "scientists" who just a few decades ago had homosexuality listed as a "mental disorder".

They're either right on both... or wrong on both.

Maybe a bunch of Christian psychologists labelled homosexuality as a mental disorder, but why bash "scientists" in genera? I don't get your point.

    They didn't. Nor would they.

If you choose to make sexual orientation a religious issue, that's you're business.

I happen to believe being gay is a choice , and why does the fact you choose to be gay has to be a in your face approach ? The very first thing someone maybe be interested in knowing about you ISN'T your sexual orientation, SORRY ! :confusion:

    Here's the thing though:

It doesn't matter what we evolved to do, therefore any points you can make based on that also don't matter.

The mainstream American medical and mental health professional associations have concluded that sexual orientation is not a choice.

Sex isn't about pleasure, sex just happens to be pleasurable however the ultimate idea of sex is procreation..

I'm also not saying sex shouldn't be fun, but claiming sex is about fun first and procreation second is disingenuous..

If it even matters I could care less who or what people screw, just don't expect that I will support what you're doing.. I want no involvement in it and if you told me you wanted a jar to stick up your ass I wouldn't give you one because I don't think sticking jars up butts is a good idea and I don't want to contribute to weird stuff like that..

Can people not respect the idea that some people don't want to be indirectly involved in ideas they're opposed to...

The same people who classified it as a mental illness.

Did you support them on that one too?

Or just when they agree with you....

So what if it is, or isn't, a choice? Shouldn't people be free to make any choice they want to?

Everyone has always had that freedom. What we all lack is the right to a preferred set of consequences for our choices, particularly as regards the reactions of others.
