Not needed, just a wild imagination, a rumor or two and away they go. We have come along way from the days this type of nonsense was created and grown down my river while scrubbing skidder off underwear on a scrub board!

You might just get the price to the funniest post of the week.

You quote my post, then say "wrong", and then post a reference that says exactly the same thing that I wrote. Hilarious!

I bet you did it on purpose, didn't you? Somebody told you about the honor of "the funniest post of the week" award, and you thought to yourself: "This week it's mine!", right? I don't know yet if you'll get it. You have worthy contenders. But you are way up there. Hang tight!

Your unsubstantiated assumption being that they're doing that. Impeachment gives the house authority to do what it says it gives the house authority to do. Nothing more. Nothing less.... Beyond that, I don't know what strawman you have in mind...

Doesn't say anything about the supremacy of the House. The House can make any accusation they want, but because there is no evidence, the Senate will exonerate. The House can petition the courts and compel compliance with their subpoenas. In fact, the transcript of the call answers all questions. Trump released it without argument.

According to Pelosi, the Impeachment is not about Ukraine. She said impeachment's been in the works for 2 1/2 years. Trump won the election in 2016. According to Pelosi, that was his crime.

    They have.

Because that's what the Constitution says they need to do.

I know... but I don't have to debate well. Just better than the person I'm debating. And it looks like you believe he's doing even worse than "poorly" since you think he needs your help.

What punitive measures can you apply for noncompliance?

    What?

    Oh! I see... It's a "joke"....

How should I put this? Uhmmm.... There is a reason why you don't see today many right-wingers make it as comedians. No "pro-Trump" Jon Stewart or Jimmy Kimmel or Colbert or Bill Maher or John Olivers... anything like that. And it's because "right wing" and "comedy" are just not ...

Oh... with my respect to the few exceptions, of course. Larry the Cable Guy... I don't know what his politics are today but.. he's pretty good. Oh... and Jeff Dunahm, of course. There are a handful. But they're rare.

Sure. But that has nothing to do with what I am saying. Using the powers of the Office of President of the United States to obstruct the Impeachment process against the President of the United States who is being investigated is Obstruction of Congress and an Impeachable offense. Regardless of any court action that may also be taken.

In this debate, I clarify, you obfuscate. "Invoke", "claim", "say out loud", .... use whatever expression you want. The President has to state, in some way shape or form... that the information is privileged. And they have not done that.

See? Clarity. You always know who is wrong in any debate because they try to obfuscate. So... go ahead and continue obfuscating, and I'll be more than happy to continue clarifying.

But that's not going to help Trump.

Court cases of what? When I have talked about court cases, I have cited court cases. What else would you need? The President has ordered his staff not to appear before Congress. That fact obstructs the investigation that Congress is carrying out in the course of his impeachment proceedings.

I wonder if there is an expression to describe all of the above simply and, therefore clarify... Oh yeah... I remember "Obstruction of Congress".

    Now your turn.... obfuscate away!

Thanks for proving you don't really get it. Congress wants to breach the separation of powers. Only the court can referee that.

I'm only going to explain this to you once. As I told another poster, I want to use whatever limited time I have for posting wisely. And there are many interesting threads out there. There is only one quotation of the Constitution on the OP. If you can't find it, or don't understand it, sorry but I'm not going to waste the time I have in hand-holding.

I know I have in the past. And some have come to expect it, but.... now there is just too much going on. You're on your own.
