The AI sector is certainly booming, and there is no correlation between Intelligence and Trump.

Generally when the term "bubble" is used it denotes an irrational or fraud-based run-up. That was not the case.

I look at it as something being way over-valued, so that's why I call it that. But I can see your point where rationality is concerned. On the other hand, I recall hearing something about "irrational exuberance."

I find that hard to believe.

The political arena has become so polarized since Trump, that there are no real independents left.

Trump and Biden are high-profile candidates and their policies couldn't be more different.

Manchin would be my first pick if he ran. You don’t have to believe me. I don’t need your belief to sleep at night.

    Manchin is a Democrat.

He and Biden are not far apart ideologically.

Someone who loves Joe Manchin, logically, hates Trump.

The economy needs deflation? Show me ONE economist who would agree with this, just ONE. In any case, it will never happen, because 1) presidents do not control monetary policy and 2) if they did, they would create a downturn and probably would not be re-electable.

I know, deflation sounds good, wouldn't it be nice if prices would decrease and everyone's purchasing power would increase. However, it just doesn't work that way, and people who are advocating for deflation usually don't realize the macroeconomic implications.

How do you propose we do this, aside from increasing interest rates?

And with the possibility of dumping Biden's money bazookas and some legislation aimed at actual benefit to the economy things are looking up. Watch for the correlation of Trump's chances and increasingly positive economic trends.

Why take the option of the table that we have? We can also increase sales tax but that’s not the topic of this thread

Aside from saying some meanie-head things, how has Joe actually attacked the energy sector?

Sales taxes are controlled by the states, not the feds. And red states are not going to increase sales taxes.

He didn’t want more permits that Manchin actually advocated for

That doesn’t mean they can not. This is the last I will respond to this because it’s off topic.

And why does that even matter? Federal permits make up less than 10% of our domestic oil production, oil production is high, and most of the federal permits issued are going unused.

But it clearly separates the two on their energy stance. They are not the same and it’s also likely he wouldn’t have Harris as a running mate

Well, I disagree. this is about your proposed solution for the problem posed in the OP. But, have it your way. I'll end with reminding you that you celebrated Trump's tax cuts and have criticized Dems for wanting to raise taxes. This while economists were loudly warning that inflation was coming. And he wanted even LOWER interest rates.

I understand the economics of it. I realize that it incentivizes people to not spend. It increases the value of a dollar meaning everything as in everything loses value so purchases are always a negative investment. I’m not saying we need a prolonged deflation rate but a short couple years of 2% deflation would help tremendously.

I liked trumps tax cuts yes. Because it’s income taxes. I would love to see income taxes completely go away and go with a sales tax across the board.

You made it sound like a symbolic act; that the only impact it had was that the two sides were making their desires known. How is that any different from them just saying they don't like each other?

Because Manchin would allow more permits. He likely wouldn’t have drained our oil reserves as well. He would t attack guns like Biden. He wouldn’t have Harris. He’s better

And what would more permits even accomplish? Again . . . most of the permits out there are going unused. How will more unused permits help?

You're not going to convince me until the price of groceries like eggs stops skyrocketing

This will never change because city dwellers outnumber small town people, farmers, and ranchers. They want lower grocery prices yet support laws like California's pig law that makes a minimum space per pig, and reintroducing wolves, and forcing electric vehicles on farmers, and making water laws that restrict land usage. City people make it harder to get food then want to complain about the price at the same time. It’s amazing to me.

I know you’re not a city dweller but this is the reason food prices continue to go on the rise.
