My point was that it is PRIVATE COMPANIES who develop such things for Covert U.S. Military R&D Programs. It is true that some developments will be kept Top Secret for multiple decades or more but as far as Colonization of the Moon and Mars....and Asteroid Mining and Mining the huge amounts or rare elements on the Moon and Mars existing in Meteorites and Asteroid Impact sites as on Earth or atmosphere usually burns up the majority of these incoming rocks unless they are huge and even then because of the Earth's weather, atmosphere, rain, oceans, life....etc....any large impact zones of such huge incoming rocks are either hidden, eroded by time and weather or deep under the ocean as the vast majority of Earth's surface is water.

Now on the Moon....no atmosphere....and Mars....very little atmosphere....the location of these impact sights are visible even from Earth so we would know exactly where to start digging.

Because the probability for Mining Success is 100%.....without a doubt the U.S. Military will lift restrictions on Top Secret Propulsion systems designed and made by PRIVATE INDUSTRY so that an entire new facet of Economic Growth can be achieved.

The reality is we have the Tech. to Colonize NOW....and the return will be fruitful....VERY FRUITFUL indeed.

I admit I know nothing about the rest but safety glass was in use long before the space program started.

It is not a question of technology but instead a question of resources and no one has such resources today.

 

What was once called safety glass is nothing like what was developed specific for the space program and it was not specific a development to actual glass in a capsule.

It was the material that made it possible for glass to be shatterproof and as well break but yet stay together in one piece.

That Laminated Glass was not capable of having a single pressure point where Police and Fire Rescue can press a sharp object at a specific point on all car auto glass and the entire glass will break open.
