Wasn’t for the last impeachment nor this time.
There are five or six Republican Senators that are out to impeach Trump.
The Republicans who may support Trump’s impeachment - POLITICO
Trump should be looking forward to an impeachment coming soon.
Pence rejects calls for him to remove Trump from office under 25th Amendment
No surprise there.
(what a pathetic little man- lost potential)) The ultimate enabler. He turned away as Trump ran through one red light after another.
The House: "About that... The 25th lets us do it too. Since you won't we will." Vote is 218 vs 206 in favor as I type this.
Gleefully cheering it on.
indeed.....and his words did incite. It had been building for a while .
No matter what happens with impeachment. It's safe to say when it comes to Donald you can stick a fork in him he's done, and not just in politics but in business too. The Trump brand is shot.
And the House votes to invoke the 25th.
What I hear is that There is voting to get rid of Trump. We should know by now that he's bad news and has been bad news all along. We agree on this don't we?
the only ones that don't agree , are his cult of supporters. And this cult is actually rather frightening as they are making plans for the 20 th.
the sooner Trump is gone , with consequences the better.....as he has wrecked the GOP. If the GOP wants to restore any credibility ........it has to remove the stain of Trump ASAP That is why even Mitch is signalling that impeachment is the way to go. (and for Mitch....... even smoke signals indicating that are significant.
A rump supporter Republican (sorry, I missed his name) has just stated he is voting for impeachment.
Situation very dynamic. What a time to be living through.
Democracy and the constitution is holding up.
I guess.....enough is enough. or too much.
Fifty years we were wondering how a civilized and cultured country like Germany let a Hitler happen. Fifty years from now people are going to wonder how America let something like Trump happen. Whenever I think of Trump. H.L. Mencken's quote comes to mind. "As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”.
Some of us have been asking that question for some time. (over the past four years)
all one had to do is examine his business history. ........ as it speaks to the man himself.
House approves resolution calling on Pence to remove Trump using the 25th Amendment
Pence has already sent a letter to Nancy saying he would not do this....
The 25th was never intended to be punitive and Pence already told them no. Its a set up for the impeachment vote tomorrow.
It will then set up legislation to deny trump the right to hold public office every again if a senate impeachment trial for a former president is deemed unconstitutional since the primary punishment for impeachment is removal.
Anyway its sliced, he's going to pay bigly in more ways that one. The universe moves implacably closer to balance.
The sooner they impeach Trump, the better. Is there a possibility Biden could President earlier than inauguration day if that is possible? Biden is going to be the new President anyway and Trump will be finished with politics forever. I hear that there is a possibility that a Trump loyalist Ted Cruz faces some backlash and be censured. It won't be fun to be a Trump loyalist anymore. I thank God I have no loyalty for Trump and I never did either. So there.
Pence is a yes sir man to Trump. You don't think He'd go against Trump in any way would you?
Sorry, right now it looks like something very much like it is going to happen at all 50 of the State Capitals on the 20th
I'm of 2 minds about that. OTOH I REALLY don't want people to get hurt or things to be damaged. OTOOH let's get all these sort of people out in the open and maybe even have some of the more radical sorts under a nice jail where they can't hurt anyone else.
I dunno. (So what else is new?)
Impeachment in the House is certain. What is more uncertain is whether 17 Republican Senators will vote to convict. I suspect that if McConnell does vote to impeach, many other Republican senators will follow. As much as I disagree with much of their social policies, and feel disgust at the craven self-interest of those like Cruze and Hawley, I really hope the Republicans can save their party from being the party of Trump and make it so it offers up a viable and democratic alternative to the Democrats....
He did, though, He was put under incredible pressure by Trump to overturn the election even though his role was purely ceremonial, and he refused to do it. For a brief period of time that really mattered, that spineless man showed courage. And what did he get for his four years of blind loyalty to Trump? Calls from the mob to hang him for daring to not go along with Trump's attempt to overturn the election. And at no point while it was going on did Trump check in to see if his VP was safe. I'd like to think Pence learnt from this, but I don't think he did...
The house has no power to do that. It has the power to impeach.
I don't want to hear a Democrat ever again talk about unity.
Ok. Trump isn't going to resign. He'll finish his term on schedule next week.
The House and possibly the Senate are going to go through with it. Some of the Republicans that were afraid of Trump will probably won't be afraid of him anymore.
Pence and the Republicans in the House and Senate had to be loyal to Trump and were afraid to go against Trump, Because if they did, They would lose their positions and possibly their jobs. Trump could ruin anyone that went against him and you didn't if you under Trump's thumb. Trump wanted to become a dictator, he influenced the people that he could make America great and people believed him. There were different reasons why people voted for Trump. More later.
So what? That's not within their authority.
Looks that way doesn't it?
