So you missed the fact that CNN DEMANDED to be called on in complete opposition to how news conferences are held? Sad you are so unaware.

I didn't accept that flaw in Obama, I admitted to myself that Obama was a wuss than just as Trump is a wuss now.

When the media trades journalistic integrity for biased partisan hackery then I really don't care if somebody raised their voice and called them out on it.

The reporter was rude? Oh my, how scary! Look, aside from the fact that Trump thrives on being rude himself, if he cannot handle uncomfortable questions from a journalist, he's going to be completely out of his depth when it comes to dealing with global players.

 

Trump got where he is by berating the media so he sees no reason to change. As a Trump supporter I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand I really wish my president would realize that as president he should be above petty bickering with the media. It makes the office of the presidency seem small, petty and vindictive. I didn't approve when president Obama constantly beratted Fox News because they wouldn't worship him and I don't approve of Trump treating CNN the same way.

On the other hand there's a guilty part of me that's enjoying what he's doing. CNN and other media constantly mocked Trump, constantly said he couldn't win, and then cried and yelled when he did when. "It's a whitelash" said a CNN commentator. I can't help but enjoy watching Trump blast them.

Still though that enjoyment will wear off shortly and president Trump will have some serious issues to deal with and I'd like to see him act with the dignity we expect (or should expect) from a United States president.

 

I deal in evidence, not fairy tales which demand you believe them unconditionally. I'm not that gullible, frankly.

To paraphrase- The CNN journalist acted very poorly. Trump wussed out by not telling him that he's not in a position to demand anything.

Outstanding strategy by Trump. He fully understands he has nothing to gain by being respectful to the likes of CNN. Finally someone gets it.

He didn't bow to them here which I agree would have been much worse, he did however
A. Fail to directly address CNN's failure to adhere to press conference decorum. (wuss!)
B. Fail to accept the challenge presented by the journalist and answer the question. (wuss!)
C. Fail to use the opportunity to, after crushing said question, remind CNN what good journalism is. (wuss!)

I look at CNN's behavior pretty negatively here too, and if you want to talk about it, please start a thread. But this is about Trump's reaction. Which was unabashedly underwhelming.

Let me assure you that Trump was not involved in petty bickering at this news conference. Trump praised all the other newsmen, even those he had differences with, and praised them for their journalistic integrity for not printing an unsubstantiated story. And then he laid into CNN for their lack of integrity. It was a beautiful thing.

 

"An evil age is eager for a sign, but no sign will be given it except that of Jonah." Sorry, mate. Your obstinacy is doing you no good.

But here is a sign I think you should investigate thoroughly before you cavalierly dismiss it. Just my own opinion.

One other very noteworthy item. In July the child Lucia asks the Virgin Mary if her recently deceased aunt was in heaven. Lucia told the others that Mary told her their aunt was guilty of many unrepentant sins and would be in purgatory for a very long time. In purgatory. Or was 9 year old Lucia so clever and devious to make this part up? I mention that last item for my protestant friends.
