I remember thinking at the time that Mr. Smarmy may or may not have raped her, but he did something to her in that hotel room. The fact that she didn't call the police is not surprising, either. Many women don't because all of the actions that go with reporting a sexual assault can be the emotional equivalent of being raped all over again. I found her believable for a couple of reasons: 1) She never once tried to sue for money, or try to make money off of the incident with book deals or any other attempts to gain celebrity status, and 2) she did file an unsuccessful suit to get documents about her that the White House may have gathered. Trying to get your privacy back isn't something a woman would do on a whim.

However, I do wonder why even Ken Starr, who had a hardon for busting Clinton the size of Texas, declined to pursue it, as did the FBI.

I tend to believe the women, but if he's guilty, I sure do wish that Juanita had reported it to police right after he left the room, because if everything she says is true, he should have gone to prison.

Feminists have worked hard for decades to improve the lot of women who are sexually harassed or assaulted, and progress has been made in how allegations are handled, but this is still a man's world. If it weren't, the "***** grabber" would have been judged and jailed long ago. He and Bill should have been cell mates, IMO.

Your opinion of her is irrelevant to the point. But you disagree with her assertion that all women "have a right to be believed" wrt allegations of sexual assault.

Clinton tweeted in September that every sexual assault survivor had "the right to be believed."

She was later asked at a campaign event if the women who had accused her husband of sexual harassment and assault, including Broaddrick, deserved to be "believed" also.

Well, I would say that everybody should be believed at first until they are disbelieved based on evidence,” Clinton responded.
