Trump Compares Himself to Jesus Again

Jesus wrongfully retained government scrolls? He paid off Mary Magdalene illegally? He tried to conspire with the disciples to steal the mantle of messiah from John the Baptist?

 

God's relating to you? - He knows all. He knows "the number of hairs on your head". He doesn't need to relate to you. The likening of Trump's trials to Christ's crucifixion is blasphemous. Christ took on the sin's of the world. There's a reason he called out to His Father, "My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?" Some do entire Bible studies on this one sentence from Jesus, and what was behind those words.

 

truth and Justice have nothing to do with Trump. These are abstract ideas that have no place in Trump’s self serving and criminal mind, except as tools to don gullible disciples with.

 

I think he understands our suffering because he went thru it. So we can relate to him and he us. How else is he ones personal savior. It sounds to me like you guys simply hate Donald Trump, and refuse to extend to him his humanity. That makes him all the more like Jesus, and you guys the more his murderers. Not that Trump is anyone's savior. But he is a man, as deserving of fair treatment as any man.

 

This equates our suffering with Jesus's suffering. Our suffering did not take on the sins of the world - all the darkness in the world was absorbed into Jesus's being. No matter how horrendous our suffering (torture, etc.), it cannot compare, because His suffering was divine in nature..

He can relate to us. We can never fully understand or comprehend Him. He's our personal savior when we have faith in him, and pray to his divine nature.

Yes, we should love and respect our fellow man. I'm not refusing to extend "humanity" to Trump. I'm refusing to extend a claim to divinity to Trump, when he compares his plight to that of Jesus.

We are all the offspring of an eternal divine God. Therefore our suffering is divine due to the nature of our origin. That's why Jesus came. We are related. That's why we love him, because he loved us and came to save us. We have all fallen short. But he succeeded in overcoming everything. If as you say, we are not relative. Then we have no part in him nor he in us. But that is contrary to his purpose and gospel. "At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you." Matthew 14:20

Trump is proud of being Christian. That's his right. Nothing wrong there at all. Actually positive thing when someone is secure in their religious convictions.

His reference to "King" is assuredly a reference to Christ. He's the only "King" I have. Do you have others?

I get your argument, but by opinion is that it borders too much on the idea that Humans-are-divine. We are made in God's image. That doesn't mean that we are Gods. I can see why you think Trump's claims are perfectly normal. I think most Christians would disagree.

 

I don't see our existence or the work of God as his hobby, as if we were no more than animated figurines or flesh sacks. I see it as a stage of our development as his offspring. Therefore we are Gods. Yes we are made in his image. But so was Jesus. That didn't make him less a God or not set apart as savior. In fact the Jews were about to stone him for blasphemy because as a man he said he was the Son of God. And Jesus said that the scripture and law which can't be broken says ye are Gods.

But as you intimated, I can only speak for myself. IMO, one cannot love God if one isn't like him in spirit and truth.

 

What is it in relationship to this. Christ said we (Christians) would be persecuted. That's the comparison Trump is going for. In all my life (I'm 69) I've never seen a politician (although DJT is not much of one) smeared and hated as much as him.

 

Blasphemy - As you said Trump compared his persecution to the plight of Jesus. You realize that Jesus took on all the sins of the world? That is a divine act, that we as humans, cannot comprehend. But not Trump - he has it all figured out.

There is a reason Trump is disliked. He is hateful in his everyday speech and actions. Examples:
1. Recently ridiculed Paul Pelosi, after getting hit in the head with a hammer from a MAGA Nutjob.
2. Called Nikki Haley "Birdbrain", and told donors to her, that MAGA didn't want their vote.
3. Awarded the hateful Rush Limbaugh a Medal of Freedom.
4. On John McCain, he stated, "I like soldiers who don't get captured". (Trump never served a day in the military).
5. Stated that General Milley should be tried for Treason.
6. Imitating a physically handicapped man.

And much, much more....

 

So YOU hate a hateful person. I'm not seeing why you're justified in YOUR hate but DJT is not. The only difference is he's a politician and you're not.

 

Comparing Biden to Trump morally is a waste of time. God doesn't judge us that way. God sees mankind through Christ. Either you're in Christ or you ain't. This is politics, not a vote for a choir leader or a Pastor.
