But Republicans by and large are stonewalling all of Trump's efforts and I am not sure why? ---- maybe because they are career politicians with a pampered lifestyle and they do not want to rock the boat in any way? Trump really gulled the rubes

 

The attitude reflected in your post is half the problem. In the minds of present-day financial elites in the US, ordinary people and their legitimate needs as part of a full economy do not matter--hence it is perfectly fine to devise business strategies that leave them out. Do you really believe the population of the US should eventually consist of a few very affluent groups and their servants, and no one else? How safe would that actually make you, with what is going on in the world?

Trump may know a lot of things about business, but he clearly doesn't understand manufacturing at all. There is nothing he could have realistically done here

 

I think this is one of the problems with Trump. Just like him saying,"Nobody knew how complicated health care is."

He seems to think every thing is simple and problems exist because everyone else is too stupid to figure out a solution.

 

Just curious what is Trump's plan to save American jobs and get manufacturers to start opening plants in the US?

Who is blocking his NAFTA initiative? Democrats are actually wanting to rewrite some of it and it is something they just may support. Republicans are not blocking it either. This is actually something we will not see voted on based on party lines.

What Trump seems to want NAFTA to be more like the TPP. Which he killed during the first week of office saying something along the lines it was disastrous.

If the President does not get support on his trade initiative it will be the result of it being too similar to the TPP. Which Congressmen on both sides of the aisle have issues with.

 

And what has he actually done himself? This post was about one of the first and only things he has done on his own, remember when he said he was the only one who could fix us? The first thing he did on his own as an acclaimed deal maker has been a cheap generic band aid on a cut to the jugular. What he gave them financially didn't change anything. And remember how much he touted, ahem tweeted about this amazing accomplishment? Haven't heard another word about those "saved 1000 jobs" from Carrier. This story has been out there for months, and yet no other mention of his self proclaimed great accomplishment. If he was actually doing something people might help, but he's acting like a true ceo by letting everyone else do the work. As a true ceo he takes credit for their accomplishments and places the blame on everyone but himself. Because of him, it's America who needs the salve.

He implemented his travel ban and beat back leftist assailants screaming in the streets and even in the federal court of appeals. His win at the Supreme Court was unanimous. Think about that.

He has also restored morale among the border patrol mostly on his own. Unlike providing healthcare for all, securing the border is an essential function of government.

He has established warm relations with the French by dint of his personality and appreciation for their history and traditions.

He has announced a clear and unapologetic philosophy of traditional, family first conservativism at his speech in Poland, to very warm applause.

But again, even if he had done nothing on his own, I'd still say it's early in his administration, and everyone needs help steering the ship of state. Are you helping?
