Donald Trump ... this is the person who is currently the US President and who initially described and devalued COVID-19 as a campaign issue of the Democrats ... and the person who in January praised China for its drastic action in Wuhan ... yes this person now accuses the WHO of conspiracy with China. The world outside his "red MAGA hat" fans still knows that he doesn't believe in truth and facts ... particularly those who are umcomfortable for him. He would much rather look for scapegoats for his own failure and blame everything and everyone ... just not where the blame really lies: the person Donald Trump sees in the mirror when he stands in front of it!

Opinion pieces don’t cut it.
Cover up means that the WHO knew something but tried to bury it. That didn’t happen. The most that happened is that the WHO accurately reported what China was claiming, without either confirming or denying the claim.
If anyone was engaged in a “cover up” it was Dirty Donny Bonespurs, who downplayed the seriousness of this for weeks while it spread through the US.

The point is that Trump hates the UN and all international agencies within the UN or next to the UN like the WHO! It is part of his Ameirca First bullshit lies he spread around.
The point is that Trump and other presidents before him want to see and abuse the UN as an extended tool of their own policies and interests. But that does not work and if these organizations do not submit to the will in Washington or even take action against the United States in justified cases, then the offended reaction comes directly and you want to turn off the evil UN.

The WHO of course depends on information from the countries, because nowhere in the world does it have state authorities in other countries etc. Do you want the WHO in the USA to have more to say than the CDC? The other day the CNN LEMON had the WHO guy on there, and the WHO guy wouldn't attack Trump sufficiently for the LEMON, which was the entire reason for CNN having him there.
