And do you think that Obama's first inauguration was on a Sunday a weekend day and Trump was inaugurated on a Friday a work day may have had anything to do with it? I postulate that more Trump supporters work than Obama's and certainly Obama got HUGELY more of the Federal workers in DC, where they get a holiday to attend, than Trump supporters, people who live right there and do not have to travel to get there? Think that would sway the numbers a little?

How about the threatening rain showers that were being predicted? The more walling off and control of access and the security stations they had to pass through in part because of the Democrat/Leftest/Progressives announcements they would infiltrate and disrupt the ceremony and in fact were attempting to do so with the riots that were going on a few blocks over.

Think any of that had to do with the numbers.

The Parks administration gives out no numbers no estimates, for the press to try and jump out and attempt to make these apples to oranges comparisons in an attempt to marginalize the incoming administration is another reason the MSM does so poorly with the public in general.

Yet the press secretary claimed without evidence that it was the largest crowd ever and one of Trump's spokesperson said that the press secretary was presenting alternative facts, also known as speculation and conjecture as there is no such thing as an alternative fact. The new press security is off to a hypocritical start.

I love how half of Trump supporters are claiming the pictures are fake, and the other half are making excuses as to why the crowd was small.

And in all of this, not surprisingly, you have missed the entirety of the point. Trump says it "was the largest inauguration in history", then sends out his press secretary with to touch on 5 different things (and ONLY 5 things), of which 4 of them are easily verified as lies. This isn't about the size of the crowd, its about the size of the lie. Trump will lie about something this easily verified, what else is he lying about ?

The right keeps screaming about the press lying, and when they call out the blatant lies of the President, his minions step right up on queue and defend the indefensible. Its an amazing thing to watch when you try to defend a lie that has photographic evidence to not be true. While your so mad at the press for being "petty" to challenge the president, you refuse to even question why the president said it in the first place, AND THEN double down with his press secretary knowing full well they were lies. If he is lying about something that easily challenged, what else is he lying about ? But I'm smart enough to know by now that we will never know what else he is lying bout because his supporters wont hold him accountable for anything.

You wont call out the "working mans billionaire" who's first official act was to take away a rate cut for home owners, and give it back to the very bankers he told you during the campaign that he wouldn't support. You wont call him out for telling you he is "for the working man" and then appointing multiple billionaires to his cabinet. You wont call him out for not draining the swamp, and yet filling it in even deeper. You wont call him out for not building the wall...........

 

Correct I looked at 2008 as that is what you were comparing. Obama's second was on a Sunday and Trump got 50% more viewing audience than that, second only to Obama's first in the last 30 years.

OK, so you're basing the claim on the megapixel.

It's clear to me that you've never been on the Mall in Washington DC, or you don't remember it at all accurately.

In the megapixel you refer to, you can't see much of anything past the two story media temporary building that crossed the Mall between the Smithsonian Castle and the east end of the Museum of Natural History opposite.

This is barely half the length of the Mall, and the pictures in the first link make it clear that there were only small crowds there.

Contrary to your claim, nobody bleached out anything. The white you see is ground cover fabric to protect the grass, which has been explained to you before.

By contrast, the first Obama inaugural crowd did fill the entire Mall from the Capitol to the Lincoln Memorial, a depth roughly four times as far as the one you're incorrectly claiming as a full Mall.

 

Partially correct. He claimed that it was the largest audience both in person and around the globe. Both claims as of yet have not been backed by fact thus the press secretary made unfounded claims. It is hypocritical for the Trump administration to take issue with unfounded claims made by the media then do the same themselves.
