Economic fundamentals are great. So great in fact that the fed has been constantly raising interest rates to slow it down. That and the election of a democratic congress are the reason for the stock market tanking.

 

Emissions fell under Obama because the economy was so slow and of course the warmer crowd is predicting they will grow under Trump. Take that prediction for what it's worth. Nothing. Either way I don't care because C02 is not a pollutant.

Trump has done nothing for the economy except threaten it with his trade wars. The stock market, a bellwether for our economy, is a negative for the year, and the major concern is trade. The Op/Ed referred to Trump's tax cuts. Trump's tax bill was rejected. Congress wrote the entire tax bill.

Trump threatened a government shutdown if he did not get his way with the border wall. “Could there be a shutdown? There certainly could, and it will be about border security, of which the wall is a part,” Trump said.

Again! How many times has Trump threatened a government shutdown over the border wall Mexico was supposed to pay for ... or so he promised? Three, four, five times, I have lost count. It has yet to happened. Again, more propaganda for his diminishing gullible base.

ABC News reported this today, "As Friday’s deadline to fund the government looms, the White House appeared to back off President Donald Trump's $5 billion demand for border wall funding Tuesday, spinning up questionable options that aides hope would allow the president to save face without shutting down the government."

In a rare and short press briefing on Tuesday, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said the administration will be looking into other federal agencies to cough up the money for the wall.

“The president has asked every agency to look and see if they have money that can be used for that purpose,” Ms Sanders said. “We’re looking at every avenue available.”

When asked about taxpayer liability for the wall, Sanders said, "We’re not asking American taxpayers for that. We are looking at existing funding through other agencies right now that we can draw on to do that in — immediately."

Was she serious? Well, yes, she was. Only a Trump staffer could say something that stupid. Any existing funding that other agencies have in their coffers is taxpayer money. So, trying to claim the money isn’t coming from the American public is either misinformed or misleading. My God, this is our executive branch. They know less about government than my sixth grade neighbor.

Trump threatened weeks ago to impose a 25% tariff on Chinese goods on Jan. 1. Now he is backing off of that, claiming a deal with China that puts us back to square one. He raves about the deal, but he accomplished nothing other than eliminate a problem he created. In Trump's world, this is success.

This is almost comical. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

All he did was hand off a very robust economy.
And as of now, we are still robust. But the stock markets are showing signs of being very worried about 2019. They are a 6-9 month leading indicator.

 

Currently, Trump is threatening to shut down our government.

Currently his harsh tariffs and his trade war with China has wiped out all gains for the year in the stock market. Everyone with an IRA or mutual fund has lost money.

By declaring Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, Trump has removed the U.S. as a power broker in the Mideast and replaced by Russia.

Trump has made the U.S. a pariah on climate change by making us the only country not a member of the Paris Accord. He thinks climate change is a Chinese hoax. The past two years have seen once-in-500-year-storms occur frequently with surreal weather making weather history.

He has threatened NATO and angered the leaders of the free world, Trudeau, May, Macron, and Merkel to name four.

He removed the U.S. from the JCPOA that permanently barred Iran from making a nuke and replaced it with harsh language and weak sanctions. Russia is Iran's ally and technology and weapons supplier.

Trump, in a stunning rebuke of the US intelligence community, declined to endorse the US government's assessment that Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election, saying he doesn't "see any reason why" Russia would be responsible.

"I have great confidence in my intelligence people, but I will tell you that President Putin was extremely strong and powerful in his denial today," Trump said.

According to Giuliani, Trump’s written answers to the special counsel’s questions say the Trump Tower Moscow discussions may have continued even later, “up to November 2016,” he told Chris Wallace on "Fox News Sunday."

In other words, during the entire course of the Presidential election campaign, Trump was busy negotiating with the Putin government.

This explains Trump's subservience to Putin at Helsinki when both were standing before reporters at a press conference.

This explains why Trump, to this day, refuses to blame the Putin government for interference in our election, and why he spurns American intelligence on the issue.

This explains why Trump collaborated with the Russian government in the first place.

Trump is worse than an idiot. He is in Putin's pocket.
