Ever heard of the story about the boy who cried wolf? This constant outrage from the left concerning everything Trump has gotten to that level and beyond. To be upset about this is beyond silly, and your average citizen is now starting to tune out concerning all the negative coverage of Trump so much that when he really does something worth criticism, your average person in this country will not care.

But to address the point of this post, this solder put himself in harm's way protecting this country and had paid a huge price for it. I think it is a great gestor that the president took time out of his busy day to show this solder some love and respect.

 

It is important that the president visit the wounded. It is good for the wounded soldier, and, for the president, it drives home the true cost of war.

 

That poor vet's face was like "What the @#$%? Is he really congratulating me for losing my leg?!"

 

Remember when President Obama was criticized by the right for choosing mustard over ketchup?



So please, by all means school us on constant petty outrage.

 

I suppose you also applaud President Obama, who visited Walter Reed 23 times during his presidency.

If you read the article, there is a viewpoint that presidents should avoid visiting Walter Reed.

Trump's words were clumsy. His visit to Walter Reed was - same as Obama - admirable.

 

A coward congratulating a hero for getting wounded, and I bet you don't think it was done for political purposes. BTW "gesture"

Yes I did, and I don't agree with that viewpoint in the slightest. Trump's words have consistently been clumsy, but making an issue of his words vs. his intentions is as silly as criticizing Obama for choosing mustard over catchup as toddwv pointed out.

This whole thread is petty. Anyone who supported a president who went and played golf after an American was beheaded has no business criticizing Trump.

 

Of course it is. Trump shows no empathy for anyone save his family, well the children at least, and himself. This was all political in preparation for the others he will get killed,

 

4 for college, one for bone spurs. And then the spurs miraculously disappeared with no medical attention, and he played sports in college.

 

I am thinking of the soldier. Think of how much more pride he would have had if he had received the award from an actual man, not a coward.
