If the President told you that you should do something, wouldn't you take that as an order?

Were you ever in the military? Assuming you were, if your commanding officer told you that you should do something, wouldn't you take that as an order?

Some leaders are more subtle than others. Also, Trump has a problem with syntax. He is not an expert at sentence formation and proper word use.

I was in the military and was a commander about half the time. I don't remember ever using or receiving an order with the word "should". There was no point in using such a term.

However, this thread like the other has wore out its usefulness

Giuliani told Fox News on Wednesday that if the special counsel's investigation is not completed by September, then there would be a "very, very serious violation of Justice Department rules," because Mueller "shouldn't be conducting one of these investigations in the 60-day period."

That is a lie there is no such rule. The statement is clearly meant for Trump's base. They believe anything.

Interesting, the only people talking about impeachment are the Republicans. "When I first got involved, I would have told you not testifying would be the right legal strategy but then hurt politically," Giuliani told CNN in a phone interview Wednesday. "Now I'm thinking the continuance of the investigation would actually help because people are getting tired of it, and (the President) needs something to energize his voters because the Democrats look like they're energized. Nothing would energize (Republicans) more than, 'Let's save the President.' "

"If (Attorney General Jeff) Sessions won't un-recuse and Mueller won't clear the President, we're the only ones, which is really the danger ... we have to keep all these seats," Nunes can be heard saying on a recording from a private fundraiser aired by MSNBC on "The Rachel Maddow Show" on Wednesday. "We have to keep the majority." Devin Nunes is chairman of the heavily partisan House Intelligence Committee. He feels it is the job of the Republican House to protect Trump. The House, an equal branch of government, is responsible for oversight of the executive branch, not its protector.

Guess they know something the rest of us don't. That the President is guilty of conspiracy and obstruction? There is a need to protect him?

I get the impression you are not agreeing with my intent. We would not use "should" when giving an order. We simply told them to do it. .

However, if I was giving advice or making a recommendation, I might use "should". If I told someone he "should" save 10% of his paycheck, it was just advice. Not an order.

We have beat this subject to death. Time to end it.

Sometimes a review is in order. Also, this story is still dominating the news cycle. Also, you avoided this post. So did all of Trump's fans. I wonder why.

An official Presidential statement filled with lies. This is the new normal for our current President, and, for some strange reason, his fans adore him when he lies. That says a lot about their character. Those fans who reply to this post, will think only positive thoughts about Trump. Most of his fans, however, will avoid this post. That is the smart thing for them to do -- ignore what Trump says.

Fake News reporting, a complete fabrication, that I am concerned about the meeting my wonderful son, Donald, had in Trump Tower. Indeed, the news media has reported Trump's concern, and it seems quite logical that the father would be concerned about his son. If we are to believe Trump, he is not the least bit concerned about the scrutiny Junior will face from Mueller, and the many lies he told, some while under oath. Trump is not concerned? He is either lying or he is completely ruthless and uncaring about his son. Those are the only two choices.

This was a meeting to get information on an opponent. Trump failed to mention that his campaign stood to benefit from the information provided by a hostile foreign government. Trump often omits the most important detail.

Totally legal and done all the time in politics. No doubt his lawyers have told him that the legality of this meeting is in serious question, and Mueller is taking a long, hard look at that issue. Since when has Trump ever paid the least bit attention to what his lawyers say? No, obtaining a benefit from a hostile foreign government is not something American election campaigns do "all the time in politics." It is the kiss of death, and anyone caught doing it is awfully stupid.

It went nowhere. That is completely irrelevant. The Russian government provided a test. Would the highest levels of the Trump campaign agree to collaborate with the Russian government? The Russians made it quite clear to Trump's son, Trump's son-in-law, and Trump's campaign manager they were meeting with representatives of the Russian government (see OP). The highest levels of Trump's campaign passed the test with flying colors. It is not the results of the meeting that is important. The intentention of Trump's campaign leaders is what is important.

I did not know about it! No reason to believe Trump would suddenly stop lying. We are now 18 months into the Trump administration, and one thing is perfectly clear. Trump runs the entire show. He is even his own communications director. He wishes not to share the spotlight with members of his cabinet. Whether it is talking about tariffs, the economy, security along our southern border, the summit with Kim Jong Un, the summit with Putin, Trump does the talking. Trump is the ultimate control freak. He controls everything said or done in the Trump White House. That is his nature. That is how he ran his business empire. Trump's son, Trump's son-in-law, and Trump's campaign manager, met with four Russian operatives at Trump's home, Trump Tower, to gain leverage over the Clinton campaign. We are supposed to believe that he knew nothing about the meeting. Hey, that's a good one.

And none of that has anything to do with what I said. Should is not an order.
