    It has been demonstrated that those "positive" attributes in a person only apply as long as said person also remains in goosestep with the ideology of the Party.

    Notice the treatment of "strong, independent, capable" women such as Kimberly Klacik or Candace Owens. Black women as well mind you. If they were registered Democrats they would be being hailed as the strong new face of the "diverse" Party who empowers and represents women and minorities. But since they have the audacity to not fall in line they are demonized as sell outs, weak minded, ignorant, and every other thing imaginable.

    Trump could nominate a minority disabled daughter of illegal immigrants who escaped poverty and hardship who went to law school here and successfully navigated her way through all of the processes required to become qualified as a Justice who is bound to a wheelchair due to injuries sustained as a child in an oppressive 3rd world country and the Democrats in power would STILL trash on her because "Trump".

    None of that stuff actually matters, it's all a facade. The only time any of those "brownie points" matter (minority, female, LGBTQ, etc) is if you are also a Liberal or a Progressive as well. Remaining in line with the ideology is the #1 contributing factor, nothing else matters. That's why the "evil 1%" gets a free pass and generalship status in the Progressive "movement" (straight white male celebrities) but a strong, independent, BLACK, FEMALE like Kimberly Klacik gets rips to absolute shreds by them.

    It wouldn't matter who Trump nominated that person will be trashed by the Democrat politicians in government for simply not being a Democrat. Not being in line with that ideology is a mortal unforgivable sin that even being a black female lesbian immigrant wouldn't be enough to make up for. Trump needs to just nominate whomever he feels is best suited because it literally doesn't matter WHO it is or what gender they are or what they look like they are going to be called the devil anyway.

    Apparently Trump said yesterday that he would choose a woman. Although he mentioned that if he had a pick after Kavanaugh, that he'd pick a woman, the media is giving him grief for making fun of Biden saying he would pick a "black woman".

    Ah well. There are 52 GOP Senators. Trump may lose Collins, Murkwoski and Romney. He may or may not get another judge confirmed.

    Romney's name is being floated to be Biden's Sec. of State, so he's no longer a Republican, though Biden is looking to be more of a Republican some days. LOL

    Politically, Barbara Lagoa is probably a better choice. Would the possible 4-5 GOP Senators who may have promised not to vote for a nominee this close to an election be able to not vote for a Cuban female? How would that look for "No" votes from Democrats?

    Swing state Florida would likely "swing" to Trump.

    This is sort of interesting. Barbara Lagoa, before she was a Florida judge, was hired as one of the pro bono lawyers fighting for asylum papers for the family of Elian Gonzalez.

    Y'all will remember Elian Gonzalez by the photo. He is the young boy who Bill Clinton and Janet Reno decided to deport back to Cuba in 2000, refusing to give asylum papers to him or his family.

    They think that the Gonzalez case may have cost Al Gore the election with Florida Cubans voting against him. (Remember the hanging chads.) Gore was originally siding with Republicans, who were in favor of granting asylum to the Gonzalez family, but then switched to support Bill Clinton in favor of deporting the boy and family.

    First nominated to Florida courts, 3rd District Court of Appeal, by Jeb Bush 2006. Became the Chief Judge, Jan 1, 2016.

    Ron DeSantis put her on Florida Supreme Court, May 2019.

    Trump appointed her to Florida 11th Circuit Court of Appeal 2019.

    Confirmed by the U.S. Senate November 20, 2019 by a vote of 80 "Yays", 15 "Nays" and 5 "No Votes".

    The Democrats' case against Barbara Lagoa? Her husband is a rich white man (so he must be a racist, and therefore, Barbara is disqualified). LOL

    Senate questions from the left will be about her husband, not about her qualifications.
