To state it the way he did - "There will be a bloodbath if Biden wins the election" was, at the minimum, a Freudian slip. This narcissist actually believes that his White Supremacist followers are going to break the law for him again, and go to prison. They've been there, done that.

    Totally DIFFERENT Context...
"Forfeiture" (in terms of what happened in the Hudson and Austin cases) and what could potentially happen to Trump's properties are 2 Completely Different Things!
    ^And,Everybody KNOWS That...

Those were very narrow decisions that would NOT apply to Trump's current situation...
    Next...:bored:

(That said, it is hypothetically possible that the end result of Trump's years long appeal process could see his case going all the way to the SC).
And, at that point, the SC could decide to broaden the parameters of the narrow holdings in the referenced cases.
BUT, as of NOW (as every legal expert is aware):
Those cases DO NOT Apply to Trump's current situation.

They apply specifically to Trump or any other citizens situation as I cited.

“For good reason, the protection against excessive fines has been a constant shield throughout Anglo-American history,” the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg wrote for the court. “Exorbitant tolls undermine other constitutional liberties.” This protection, Justice Ginsburg noted, is “deeply rooted in this nation’s history and tradition.”
    https://ij.org/issues/private-property/fines-and-fees/the-excessive-fines-clause/

“The Excessive Fines Clause traces its venerable lineage back to at least 1215,” wrote Ginsburg, “Magna Carta required that economic sanctions ‘be proportioned to the wrong’ and ‘not be so large as to deprive [an offender] of his livelihood.’”

Not true at all. I'm saying that even if it was out of context, it was a Freudian slip, and Trump meant it. He's an extreme narcissist. Of course he meant it. His thinking - "Proud Boys - stand down, but stand by".

There was no freudian slip it was the proper usage of the word why do you think you get to assign your self serving motives to him. His statement in proper context clearly about an economic bloodbath on our auto industry which of course would hurt the entire economy. So why do you try to paint it as something different rather than discuss what he ACTUALLY SAID?

Do you agree the Chinese building those plants and using the cheap labor to undercut our own auto industry could result in a bloodbath on them and the economy? If so do you agree with the tariffs he proposes or something else? Should Biden be spending all this money subsidizing EV manufacturing here while at the same time supporting his family's benefactor the Chinese to simply be able to undercut them?

Biden is tougher on China than Trump. In 2018, Trump instructed his the commerce department to bail out a Chinese phone company that was on the verge of bankruptcy.

Please explain why all these Democrats wanted people to start attacking others in a bloodbath? Guess words are violence only when they want them to be:)

Ever heard of cutting your nose off to spite your face?

""ZTE, the large Chinese phone company, buys a big percentage of individual parts from U.S. companies. This is also reflective of the larger trade deal we are negotiating with China and my personal relationship with President Xi," Trump said on Monday.

ZTE paid more than $2.3 billion to 211 U.S. exporters in 2017, a senior ZTE official said on Friday. U.S. companies are estimated to provide 25 percent to 30 percent of components used in ZTE's smartphones, network gear and other products.
The U.S. Commerce Department is exploring options besides a supplier ban to punish ZTE <000063.SZ> <0763.HK>, China's second-largest telecom maker, Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said.

"ZTE did do some inappropriate things ... the question is are there alternative remedies to the ones we had originally put forward and that's the area we will be exploring very, very promptly," Ross told journalists at the National Press Club in Washington"

It didn't get them off the hook. And then of course year late he went after Huawei and then the steel tariffs.......

Where has Biden been tough on China?

    You neglected to mention this:

    https://www.businessinsider.com/tru...ons-to-trump-organization-tied-project-2018-5

Trump's controversial ZTE order came days after the Chinese government provided millions to a Trump Organization-tied project

Arguably this could have been Trump's first impeachable offense.

This said, I will address the other comments. If BYD built a plant in the US, you don't think they would hire American workers and use American management? They have a bus-building plant in Los Angeles and that's the case. They would source American raw materials, etc. That's how multi-national partnerships work in the 21st century. As mentioned before, "BYD doesn't need America". They are doing just fine. China and other countries will continue to move forward at lightening speed with EVs, EV Battery Recycling and Repurposing, Battery Technology, Renewable and EV combo projects, while America continues to lag. Thank goodness for Tesla, otherwise America would fall flat on its face.

The bloodbath" comment was about the destruction of the American auto industry if Biden gets elected and we we are all forced to give up gas powered vehicles. That was all it was about. You libs love to quote stuff out of context. We understand that.

The comment was part of an irrational rant by Trump, but had undertones that White Supremacists will do his bidding.

The government gets to choose its reasons. Kinder eggs? Yeah no ban needed but they did it anyway.

The comment had nothing at all to do with race. The "bloodbath" comment was about what would happen to the American auto industry if Biden was are-elected and allowed to make everyone drive an EV.

Gees, you libs really can't discuss anything, from chicken soup to a brick, without bring racism or Trump into the conversation. It's hilarious.

Do you think that if the Chinese are given free reign to build cars in Mexico with cheap Mexican labor it will be a bloodbath on our own auto industry which will effect our economy? Do you believe he was talking about a political and violent bloodbath as is being claimed by the MSM?

If you have an ethics complaint about Trump then file, I am quite sure if there was anything there some Dem DA somewhere would have him in court already. You left out he a year later signed a bill banning ZTE from government purchases. Don't sound like they have him in their back pockets like they have the Biden's

What? What does "Putin and Xi" have to do with the "bloodbath" nonsense?

You just demonstrated how stupid Trump was as a president. One year he tweets love and support for ZTE, and then later trashes them.

Trump never said he "loved" ZTE. That simply isn't true.

Yes circumstances change year to year do they not. And a good leader reacts accordingly.

The hypocrisy of the left on the issue of violent language used in politics is mystifying.

Trump Says There's Going To Be A "Bloodbath" If He Doesn't Get Elected

More accurately there is going to be a bloodbath if Biden gets another term. C'mon DNC, replace him for Pete's sake. I would give your new candidate support if you were smart enough to do that.
