Below are implications of Donald Trump's unilateral move: (a) Under Donald Trump, international law and treaties are no longer sacrosanct. Shortly after he assumed office, he tore to shreds many international treaties and agreements signed by his predecessor. Despite his scandals and business failures, he seems to be very resilient and enjoys strong support among some Republican Party veterans. At least in the implementation of controversial policies, they have finally found someone behaving like a crazy horse in galloping across a minefield regardless of consequences. In recognising Israel's sovereignty over Jerusalem and the Golan Heights, Trump has acted like a global emperor, constable and judge, redrawing international boundaries according to his whims and fancies. This "crazy horse" in the White House may get crazier. He may again try to redraw borders in other parts of the world in the future despite worldwide opposition. (b) The greatest danger to the international order is that all other countries, big and small, will be emboldened to emulate his "Might is Right" policy in tearing up all existing treaties and redrawing borders in defiance of international law.
