50% is an estimate. It depends on the nature of the business really as to how many regulations there should be. Things would be out of control if there weren't at least SOME government-imposed regulations.

Decrease 75% is Trump speak for "the Democrats tried to increase them 100% and I held them to only 25%. Therefore I decreased them 75%".

Remember when the "great" state of California sent armed men to shut down a 7 year old girls lemon-aid stand?

They demanded she obtain permits that would have cost her about $4500, submitted to a health inspection that she would have to pay a $2800 fee to register for, obtain a facilities licence that's another $4000, purchase and use commercial grade dispensers and bottles that cost tens of thousands of dollars, obtain a liability insurance policy that's untold thousands, and apply for a business licence for a few hundred more just to ice the absurdity cake.

All for a (*)(*)(*)(*)ing ...lemon-aid stand.

    Yea, yeaaaa.

There's no fat to trim from government regulation folks.

We need as many of them as we can possibly write, print, and sign into law.

After all, they keep us safe from the literal horror of preteens peddling citrus.

Could you explain how ending the rent seeking competitive advantage that larger market players buy from government is a bad thing?

Honestly I just wanted to see where you were going with this, but you're crazy if you think those days are over. It would be nice to see less constricted business, but that is how the game has been played forever. Imagine a food company that could sell poisonous food without worrying. It's just not going to happen.

I ask about limiting the ability to protect market share through lobbying, and you respond with the hyperbole of deliberately selling poisonous foods due to lack of oversight. After a few of your posts and your handle, I'm starting to put together a picture of what I should expect.

o_O okay whatever. The point is that none of it is going to change. Don't get excited about nothing.

It's about time someone makes an effort to stop choking off American business. If he even achieves a third of his proposal he's done more in a short time than Obama did in eight years for American business.

If Trump gets rid of all of those regulations I can use a plastic hose as an oil pipeline and I can make my own medical drugs and medical devices as I see fit. This is going to be great!

I see a Darwin award in your future. I guess common sense cannot be legislated.

Seriously though, what's with the all or nothing arguments?

    Cheers

I keep seeing posts like this. It makes me think a lot or probably most people have little to no experience navigating the regulation jungle involved with running a business. There are millions of lines of regulation that can be removed without even considering the paranoid doomsday stuff you guys keep posting.

First, CA never sent anyone to shut down anything?

You think just because it was young girls selling lemonade that it's okay to allow them to do that but what will you say when 100's of people want to sell stuff on street corners? Why not farmers selling fruit and veges throughout the city? The issue IS NOT about 7 year old girls selling lemonade...the issue IS about requiring permits to do business within city limits.

Trump has no jurisdiction over state, county and local governments so how do you suppose Trump will change regulations to allow your lemonade stand to remain in business??

The irony is the same people today demanding reduced regulations will be the first ones to take legal action when something directly effects them...

Actually it was about the absurdity of the regulations for getting into business and how a little girl would basically need about $80,000 in capital to open a lemon-aid stand for a weekend.

And I didn't even include the mountain of additional regulations and fees for when she has to "go out of business" in Cali, haha.
