    It's cheaper to make your own meals than buy fast food. It's rather easy to compose a meal for a few dollars per person. You won't be eating Rib eye every night, but you can eat healthily on an extremely frugal budget.

    I just calculated estimate amount what mom would get if she live here in Finland and don't have job (staying with children) - in this calculation both children under 3yo and she is not getting any child support from father (so that will be covered too).

    146€ (164,20$) for each child as child benefit
    312€ (350,89$) child support (total for 2 children)
    560€ (629,81$) as housing benefit (when rent is at 700€ / month)
    628€ (706,29$) as another benefit but, didn't find word for it in english
    1792€ total, after she pays rent: 1092€ for living (1227,89$)

    That's not much in Finland, everything is damn expensive.. and when you have to buy some clothes and other stuff, .. it's harsh. In US is similar system?

    Ahhh...since the actual facts show that the poverty rate in Indianapolis (a conservative city ) is HIGHER than in New York City (NOT a conservative city)...

    ...it has to be a lie.

    Poverty rate in Cincinnati (another conservative city) is 27.7 percent

    The difference between Conservative consideration and Liberal consideration is the Conservatives usually involve themselves, and their own money, and help locally. The Liberals demand money from other people, throw it to the government, and let the world know they've done something good', when they don't even know what they've done.

    The numbers you want to look at is "affordability".

    Poor people in Indianapolis and Cinci can live a better quality of life than in NYC where even the lower middle class can't afford housing.

    I believe the left calls this "income inequality".
