They're more likely to become contributing members of society compared to whom? American citizens? No, it's a very specific meaning. Hispanics use welfare at a disproportionately high rate compared to their population and that is reflected not in their usage of roads and bridges. What a ridiculous argument.
There's over 180 other countries they can go to so it's not like they don't have other options beside the USA.
You're missing the point; this (latest) ''travel-ban'' is just a lame excuse for Trump to the get the courts on his side. If this latest executive order is allowed to stand Trump can say; 'See? The courts agree with me that I can discriminate against an entire ethnic population. Now watch me while I DARE to register all Muslims in the United States on suspicion of being terrorists. Let the mass deportations begin!' Trump needs to feel empowered, but more important validated, that he can get away with such a despicable idea. Thus, he NEEDS some validation by the courts to make him believe his discrimination is justified. Of course, Trump won't call tagging and deporting thousands of Muslims discrimination. But the rest of the world will know better...
You are aware there are far more then six Muslim majority countries so outside of Salon talking points where do you get the notion of "entire ethnic populations"?
You must be able to admit that the fact that Trump administration can delay the implementation of this order cuts against their stated reasoning behind implementing the first ban effective immediately (i.e. "to react to an imminent threat"), right?
Trump's Travel Ban Might Be Better Politically Than Legally The new order does not address the history of comments from Trump and his administration that he wanted to implement a "Muslim Ban." It still violates the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 which outlawed discrimination in immigration based on nationality. The new order also undermines the Trump administration's own legal arguments in a few different ways.
