Oh boy graph wars. We are talking GDP here but nice try.

    Economic growth (GDP)
    3 of 10

"One of the biggest criticisms of Obama's economy is that growth has been sluggish. Historically, the U.S. economy has expanded 3% or more a year, on average."

Thank you for illustrating the upward swinging economy so clearly.

Thank you for illustrating that you don't know what an upward swinging economy is.

Did we collect more capital gains tax revenues at the Clinton 29% rate or the Bush 15% rate? Did we have higher tax revenue growth after the Clinton tax rate increases or after the Gingrich/Kasich or Bush tax rate cuts?

Any number greater than zero is upward momentum. Basic math.

Basic math. Had we not slashed revenue rates, we would have collected more.

    See above.

Try economics and answer instead of dancing.

Did we collect more capital gains tax revenues at the Clinton 29% rate or the Bush 15% rate?

Did we have higher tax revenue growth after the Clinton tax rate increases or after the Gingrich/Kasich or Bush tax rate cuts?

\You made a statement of fact so prove it, prove we collected less revenue and the lower Gingrich/Kaisch and Bush tax rates.

I just thought the line graph would help you grasp the concept of growth.

The deficit/surplus is the difference BETWEEN revenues and spending, it's a two part equation. To lower deficits and increase surpluses you need higher revenue and lower spending. It seems we are making progress on one side of that equation. What's your beef? We need to lower spending too? I agree.

The facts are simple. Republicans have been constantly cutting taxes since Regan and defecits have consistantly been increasing. This should not be too hard to understand. Oh, and as a side effect wealth inequality has also been increasing.

You can’t comprehend basic math, so you’re a long way from understanding more complex issue. Master the math, and then I’ll school you in economics as well.

    Answered this already.

Yup, Obama-dems-pubs did their part in increasing the deficit, but, this is right too: " Republicans have been constantly cutting taxes since Regan and defecits have consistantly been increasing. "

Apparently, we are all at fault.

Ok you can't have a reasoned and civil discussion of the issue, I'll take that as a concession.

And that is patently false, after Republican tax rate cuts tax revenues soared and deficits fell even going into surplus. Why would you say what you did?

Had we not slashed rates, revenues would have been even higher. Basic math.

Because after all of these decades, the deficit has grown despite the GOP voodoo economics. Are you writing for Russia Today?

I do not think that those Dems like the fact that bonuses get taxed but if bonuses are treated as ordinary income then ordinary income gets taxed.

The Trumpntax Cut could have make those bonuses be treated as tax exempt distributions to employees but he Trumpndidn't did he!

Only a few real conservatives among Republicans want to lower spending.

It was slow but steady except for one year. Of course it could have been better.

Take a good look at this strumpoganda mythology where corporate taxes somehow blasted corporations into a stratospheric era of productivity, to the extent that even by collecting like 30% lower taxes, the federal government is making 5% more revenue.

Never mind the fact that corporations steer like a ship. Never mind the fact that growth takes time.

Lots of corporations and landowners spent the first quarter of 2018 hurrying to prepay property taxes because property taxes are set to go way up due to ending the mortgage interest deduction. It’s a onetime boost at most.

Of Course this big orange bozo is like the captain of the Titanic.. He’ stirring us into a trillion and a half dollars worth of deficit in the firm belief that there are no such things as massive storms or icebergs. The big dope thinks he’s outlawed recessions. But monster deficits combined with recessions will send our economy over a cliff. Remember Bush Jr. cut taxes also and told us what a glorious economy we would have and no down side .
