I thought the President-elect was looking out for the common man.

Is this election just a power move by the rich.

I haven't seen any of the common folk being selected for a cabinet post.

What happened to getting rid of the establishment.

Is this just another example of Reaganomics where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

Dynastic wealth is supposed to be covered by the estate taxes, that's the one to watch for. What his current tax plan is not so much dynastic as short term freebies for the obscenely rich. Did you know some of his friends still have gold plated bidets in their cabins up North? Seriously, now they'll get the solid gold ones that they sorely need. .

Economy: If we heard anything about Donald Trump's proposals from mainstream economists before the election, it was that he'd send the economy into a tailspin. Now, after Trump's Nov. 8 victory, they are suddenly revising their forecasts upward. Go figure.

Sounds like you and I want a flat national sales tax. Rich folks will never wriggle out of that one! We collectively figure out how much government we want, if we want one that costs 20% of GDP we can have that. If we want one that costs 25% of GDP, we can have that too. Whatever we want, that's the national sales rate. Some rich guy buys a fancy new car or yacht, cha-ching! Down on your luck, "challenge-credit" no worries, you are in savings mode so you pay very little taxes while you rebuild your life. You are one of these corrupt "Non-Profit" foundations that buys our politicians? No big deal, when you buy something, cha-ching! you too get the good feeling that you are paying your part for the government you demand.

As for Hillary, she just looks different since the campaign.

Good thing folks elected Donald Trump to fight the establishment for the working man by introducing tax plans that primarily benefit the rich.

are you referring to proposing a cut of the corporate tax rate so companies will stay in the USA instead of relocating overseas. I can see where you probably prefer the companies move so that more people are dependent on government welfare and minimum wage jobs. Too bad for you that the people of the USA are seeing through the socialist BS

why do you think you should be able to take another mans property ?
We all pay the same rate, or you are a simple thief hiding behind government to do your dirty work.

I don't see you volunteering to pay the highest tax rates.
You want others to pay so you don't have to. That makes you a thief hiding behind government to do your dirty work.

While I understand that the tax rate may be a contributing factor there is little, if anything, anyone can do to change the cost of labor in other countries. IMO, this is the main reason for shipping jobs out of the country. As someone mentioned in another thread, Workers in Mexico make 1/8 of the American worker for doing the same job. The difference in Asia and India are far greater. If President Elect Trump implements higher import taxes to offset the differences in wages, expect an unprecedented round of inflation.

I've been saying this several times: With Kushner and Ivanka having Trump's ear, that's the first thing that'll be on the agenda, because it will benefit them personally. Of course, who cares that only 5000 estates actually are affected by the estate tax.

But, they'll package it in a way that will make it seem beneficial for the common man. Like, the job creators will create more jobs (why haven't they done this under Obama when the estate tax exemption was raised to $5.1 million?).

What will really happen is the following: Dynastic wealth will be allowed to accumulate, giving even more incentive to hoard instead of invest. And the driver of the economy, the average consumer, will see a further erosion of economic power.

So you believe the purpose of the tax code is to limit the wealth of the individual citizen regardless of the effect on the overall economy which flows down to the middle class and the effect of tax revenues to the treasury.

It's all about envy and jealousy and satisfying both?

Of course using American Workers over peasants making a dollar an hour increases prices. Where do you stand on minimum wage hikes?

TRUMP IS INHERITING AN ECONOMIC MESS: GDP Hopes Slashed As Trade Deficit, Inventories Tumble In October.

Imports are a subtraction in GDP calculations. Can you tell me why?

This is really ridiculous (of course its a right wing blog)!

A drop in the trade deficit and a drop in inventories are GOOD thinks and signal a strenghtening economy!!!!!!

You may have noticed the lengthly WSJ article today on the labor shortage in blue collar trades in America, caused partly by the ongoing recovery, and also by a big shortage of undocumented workers. Net migration from Mexico is zero, which is not what you hear on Fox or right wing talk radio. People in service industries, agriculture and construction can't fill jobs.

Trump wont pay estate taxes and neither will any of the other filthy rich. Its farmers and small businesses that get shut down thanks to the death tax that their kids cant afford to pay. Ending it will help the middle class not the filthy rich.

so you don't think that going from a 35% tax rate to a 15%, which basically gives them a 20% addition to their profit margin instantly would have much effect, that's baffling to me.

lets say you make 20 cents of selling a product. Now you owe the government 35% of that 20 cents you are left with 13 cents, in Trumpworld you would have 17 cents in your pocket. It's like finding an extra 20 dollar bill in the bank on top of the 100 dollars you put in

    Dude. Your reading skills suck.

A considerably bigger than expected trade deficit (-$62mm vs -$59mm exp) suggests Q4 GDP growth may take a hit...

ZEROHEDGE has it right, you have it assbackwards.

the labor shortage in blue collar trades in America

Our schools decided everyone was going to go to college. Regional Occupational Programs, Auto Shop, Metal Shop, Wood Shop has all been decimated even PE programs have been wiped out. Folks are showing up for plumbing jobs wanting to know how to download the app that installs the piping. They have no basic skills, no mechanical skills and no muscle or tendon strength to do the heavy work. As as the Left instituted their Free Trade and Open Borders Utopia including a social safety network as blue collar jobs collapsed rather than workers moving to where the jobs are they remain in their failed towns collapsed in the social safety network addicted to drugs and alcoholism, problems that "the job" used to help them keep under control.

Basically, everything the Clintons and the Bushs did sucked, failed and we are going to take a new approach that puts America First and Makes America Great Again.

And you failed to answer if you support increased minimum wage & forcing American workers to compete with folks making 1/8th their wages.
    Horse (*)(*)(*)(*).
    1) We need training programs for American Workers.
    2) We need wage levels that are clearly superior to the social safety net that folks can get for doing nothing.
    3) Obesity is the nation's biggest health problem, we have way too much crappy food at too low of prices. Americans will work Agricultural jobs if they pay $25/hr but they won't for minimum wage.

The WSJ is part of the Crony Capitalism Bunch that wants to flood the nation with cheap labor while the American Workforce is idled on the safety network collapsed into drug and alcohol abuse with just enough government subsidy to keep them from turning to lives of crime to support their complete collapse.

You guys and your plans for the American Middle Class worker are simply horrible. Thank goodness you don't actually have the power to implement them and completely destroy everything.
