Malcolm Turnbull was the Prime Minister of Australia at the time Trump first came into power. He was one of the few world leaders who could stand up to Trump possibly because he was, and is independently wealthy so Trump being a supposed billionaire did not impress him
I think the rest of the world saw Trump as a clown and Turnbull was reflecting that on everyones behalf. 8 years later the rest of the world still sees trump as a clown.
