I agree with you in principle. A baker should have the right to choose not to bake a cake. An employer should have the right to not continue employment of the worker. How far shall we go?

What we are creating is an environment where literally ANYTHING can and will be used against you if someone, ANYONE so chooses. The result of this is the erosion of the first amendment. This is a slippery slope that may be very hard to come back from.
