UK prime minister Boris Johnson has resigned: https://qz.com/2185808/uk-prime-minister-boris-johnson-resigns/

I can't believe no one has opened a thread about BoJo resigning... but the day is young.

Me? I don't care, really, one way or another. The Brits will simply stick someone else in there to try to deal with the loss of membership in the EU, while obediently following the 'back-office' instructions from the Bank of England (as usual). . BTW, I suspect they're laughing their asses off about this in Germany right now, even though Germans have very little to be happy about themselves....

My uninformed guess is that this will make it even more likely that sooner-rather-than-later, Scotland will vote for independence from London... oops, I mean, Britain.

He's resigned at leader of his party, but remains as PM until the new leader is voted in.
And good riddance to bad rubbish. He's a liar, a cheat and a crook, without a moral fibre in his body, one of the most corrupt people who ever breathed.

In watching the House, I couldn't help but think what it would be like if our government was set up the same way!

Do you think that the Labour Party will put forward Sir Keir Rodney Starmer, KCB QC for PM...? He seems to be well thought-of in a number of quarters: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keir_Starmer

It seems to this American that Britain has been in the doldrums since the Brexit, and although it has engaged in a LOT of 'chest-thumping' and sabre-rattling under Bad Hair Boris over Ukraine, it seems to be a 'house' in severe disarray... but, I'm just an American.

There's a number of features about a 'parliamentary' system that are very appealing -- foremost among which is the ability to get rid of a corrupt, inept, incompetent, ruinous administration BEFORE it destroys the whole damned country!

Gee! I wonder if I could possibly think of a candidate-country that such an ability might apply to...?! :lonely:

Is that considered bad in Britain? I had gotten the impression that being a sex-deviant was commonplace there by now, as it is becoming so here. I've never heard anyone accuse Boris Johnson of being a sex pervert, but the execrable condition of his hair would be enough to put most people off....

Let's hope it's not bad enough to allow the man/woman Kia stammer the opportunity. The Tories have plenty of candidates to bring in. Labour is beyond pathetic and I'm a labour supporter.

I think we can all agree that their system works a lot better compared to the US.
The people in the UK vote on the party, not on the person.
While the people in the US vote on the person and not on the party.

And so the party can simply remove the head of their snake in the UK, and not in the US.
They just have to sit out the madness in the US if 25% still thinks it goes good enough.

And I bet a lot of politicians are laughing about the idiocy that went on.
BOJO got caught doubling down on lies so often, that he can't be trusted.
Lying about "not" knowing he hired a sexual predator was the final straw.
Seriously.... he sank so low, thinking he could get away with everything...

You and I rarely ever agree on anything, but I think I do agree with you now, about this. I just found out a few moments ago that although BoJo is 'out', he won't be replaced for another three months! I marvel that the Brits think they have three whole months to 'flap in the breeze' without any consequences.

Still beats the US, where they impeached Trump.... and he could just keep on going and going and going... until he got crazy enough and unleashed 1000's of supporters on the Capitol.

The damage BoJo can do now, is exceptionally limited. Nobody is trusting him. Loads walked out on him. I doubt his civil servants are willing to listen to him even.... because they know his days are numbered.

I think someone whispered in his ear. He has announced that he won't be announcing any new policies or matters involving state spending.
IOW the entire UK political machinery is in cold storage, though we should keep an eye on Patel and her Rwandan Experience.
Not so bad since the govt rises on 15 july for the summer break.
Apparently Bozo has been releasing photos of his happy home life with Carrie and his two latest offspring.
How very cute. Might appeal to the blue rise conservative ladies clubs...

KIER STARMER headed up the office of CPS but was not the reviewing lawyer
Keir Starmer led the CPS when it did not charge Jimmy Savile, but he wasn’t the reviewing lawyer

    Fullfact.org.

He did not defend Savile. He worked for the PROSECUTION...as in the CROWN PROSECUTION SERVICE. Not défense.

Sir Kier is the leader of the Labour party.
If Labour win the working majority of MP's ad voted for by the constituencies he will automatically become Prime Minister.

Now I understand why there won't need to be campaigning and a 'run-up' during the three months that lame-duck BoJo hangs around. I must say, it's a clean, efficient process.

Any idea what Starmer's chances will be for becoming the British PM?

Sir kier....lmao give us a break. That snake is a warmongering blairite. All he does is play childish games in parliament. He's a racist clown and a disgrace to Britain the way he acts in government. That guy is never a leader and the reason labour has lost so much ground since Corbyn. Corbyn got labour so close to the prize but since he's anti war the MI5 and the jewISH lobby took him down

He will be replaced by another conservative and another and another. The liberal democrats are making gains off both parties. Labour certainly isn't likely to make a sprint across the finish line first even if the new PM later this year calls for a snap election as is the tradition.

I must admit I feel sorry for the guy, no matter what your view on him is, he just looks like an idiot. He has a face that screams idiot. I'll never forget the image of him stuck on his zip line either his little flags, hilarious.

Massive props to him for Brexit, shame he didn't extend the same freedom to associate to the common people as he did to himself.

I guess good old Boris is pulling an Andrew Cuomo; and will be off to spend the rest of his days out of the public eye with all his new ill-gotten wealth from the Covid $cam.

I expect many more of the "ARTIFICIAL EVENT" government $cam artist to "cut and run" as solicitors and insider shills pushing the BIG Pharma miracle vaccines so their stock portfolios would skyrocket just before they sold off at the height of the mass psychosis injection frenzy.

Who wouldn't now that all the dust is settling (with new found distractions) with all their new found wealth by massively printing gobs of money to be laundered right back to them for their active participation as government purveyors and hypocrite mask'a'teer pushers working hard at selling billions of rigged PCR tests; and multiple jabs to all their loyal Branch-Covidian followers.

Time to relax and enjoy the fruits of all your scripted labor after selling the plebs for the past two and a half years of all your FAKED pandemic bullshit so you could reap a huge financial portfolio to spend the rest of your remaining days on.

The only fakery I can see is all the Trumpers still believing in a painted con man. When Ebola II hits we are all well and truly dead

Oh that's right. The best defense against pandemics is just to say they don't exist. You're going to have a good time explaining so many dead you can't bury them but hey, you managed to convince most of your followers all of the doctors and nurses were just fracking off in the pharmacy while they arranged sheets and pillows to disguise empty beds. I guess some people really WILL believe anything
