I think we should remain in the UN for veto power but we should cut all funding to every branch of it. The UN has become extreme on every side. They even had employees killing people in Israel for crying out loud.

Also we should take this woman and ship her butt back to Afghanistan if she wants to live in a middle eastern country that no longer has our western influence. People like this should be considered traitors when they talk down our country at a venue of this magnitude on the global stage. Put her back where she came from if she likes it so much.

We got two separate issues here.

One is climate/politics. Now, there very well may be some science buried down deep in the climate controversy but all that's been long since covered by political rants. Unfortunate. Meanwhile the kids are out raising hell while us adults are struggling to get some work done.

The other is the UN. It's here to stay and that's a good thing. 99% of what the UN does are things we need and nobody ever thinks about. Things like coordinating an international system of weights and measures. International telecoms. Postal coordination. Crime fighting tracking and cooperation. Shipping protocols. Banking interfacing. All boring stuff and our lives would be hit hard w/o any one of them. The bit about anti-capitalism rants in the General Assembly is also a good thing because it never goes any where. We want an international community forum for kids to scream in so they don't go out and break things.

So our two separate issues are we're not getting anywhere w/ climate and we need the UN. What else is new?

The UN is just as failed as its predecessor was. We should withdraw from it.

When you say "predecessor" someone might think you're talking about the League of Nations. You might not be aware that the League lasted into WWII --with offices in London-- and then the League voted to be incorporated into the United Nations. You might want to also remember that at the D-day Normandy invasion the official announcement was that it was an invasion of the "United Nations".

Sure you can say the U.S. should leave, but it's just not going to happen.

We talk about NATO but the UN is the most worthless organization on the planet, filled with radical Muslim extremists.

No doubt she's probably best buddies with members of the squad. They all talk the same anti-white anti-civilization gibberish.

Yes its predecessor was the League of Nations. I didn't say withdrawal would happen. I simply stated my opinion that it should happen.

That's fair, although we could realize that in this case our "should" becomes not something that anyone might do but rather just an impossible fantasy.

Another option is for us to consider a "should" in the realm of what we could actually bring about. My thinking is that over time the General Assembly could set aside its meaningless rants and move toward realistic harmony. Yet another option is you and I can consider their meaningless rants as a force for good --an action that could eventually point to some kind of improvement.

If the climate adviser calls himself Pakistani-American you can see where his loyalties lie, and it's not with the US.

This is why they want us disarmed.
